Sasso Carta Forbice Lizard Spock is a variation of Carta Forbice Sasso made famous by the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. This version of the game adds the Lizard and Spock, so there are more possibilities. Try it next time you need to solve a simple diatribe or want an easy game to play with a friend!
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Follow the Ground Rules
Step 1. Stand in front of a friend
Find a person to play with and stay three feet away. You can play for fun or use this game to resolve a simple dispute.

Step 2. Hold your fist in front of you and count to 3
Ask each player to close their fist with their dominant hand. Raise your fist at a steady pace so that each player can count at the same time. Say the numbers aloud to play both at the same time.
Step 3. Do one of the 5 hand signs when you say "3"
Just as you say the number 3, open your fist by creating one of the 5 hand signs: Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard or Spock. Each sign wins against 2 others. Determine who is the winner based on the sign chosen by each.
- Make a different sign with your hand each time you play, so your opponent can't predict your next move.
- In case of two identical signs, it is a tie. Play again to determine the winner.
- If you want to make the game fairer, whoever beats the others two out of three times wins.
An easy way to remember who wins
Scissors cut the paper.
The paper covers the stone.
The stone crushes the lizard.
The lizard poisons Spock.
Spock destroys the scissors.
The scissors decapitate the lizard.
The lizard eats the paper.
The card disproves Spock.
Spock vaporizes the stone.
The stone destroys the scissors.
Part 2 of 2: Deciding what to play
Step 1. Throw the stone to crush the scissors or the lizard
To create the stone, hold your hand in a fist as you say 3. The stone wins against scissors and lizard but loses to paper and Spock.
The stone is the most common choice of the game. If you want to win, avoid throwing the stone the first time you play with another person
Step 2. Choose the card to cover the stone or disprove Spock
To form the card, fully extend your five fingers and hold them close together with the palm facing down. The card wins against rock and Spock, but loses to scissors and lizard.
Step 3. Use with scissors to cut paper or decapitate the lizard
Extend your index and middle fingers to form a pair of scissors with your hand. Scissors win against paper and lizard but lose against rock and Spock.
If you notice that a player often throws paper or lizard, try using scissors to beat him
Step 4. Choose the lizard to eat paper or poison Spock
The Lizard is one of the new additions to this version of the game. Join the 4 fingers and form a kind of "mouth" with the thumb. The lizard wins against paper and Spock but loses against scissors and stone.
Pretend your hand is inside a cloth puppet to easily remember what the lizard looks like
Step 5. Use Spock to vaporize the rock or destroy the scissors
Do the classic Vulcan salute by holding the index and middle fingers together on one side, the ring finger and little finger on the other and leaving a space between the two pairs of fingers. Spock wins against rock and scissors but loses against lizard and paper.
- Practice doing the Vulcan salute before playing.
- Spock wins against rock and scissors because he uses his phaser to destroy them.
