Thongs are notoriously a type of erotic underwear. Maybe you would like a couple, but you are ashamed to go and buy it in a store. Or, perhaps, you've already bought some thongs, but just want to challenge yourself with a new craft project. Either way, you can build your own thong if you have any sewing or crochet skills.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Elastic Thong
If you feel confident in your tailoring skills, sew multiple pieces of elastic lace together to create a simple and sexy thong.
Step 1. Gather the materials
You will need 117 cm of elastic lace, approximately 5 cm wide.
Step 2. Cut two 37 cm pieces of lace for the waist
Step 3. Cut two 8.5-inch pieces of lace for the crotch
Step 4. Place the two 37cm pieces of lace on top of each other with the fronts touching each other
Step 5. Pin each end together using a pin on each side
Step 6. Place the two 21.5cm pieces of lace on top of each other with the front parts facing inwards
Step 7. Pin the center of the lace pieces
Direct the pins towards the outside of the lace when you are approximately 4 cm from the end.
Step 8. Use an overlock sewing machine to sew the ends of the 37 cm pieces together
Alternatively, make zigzag stitches by hand to sew the pieces together. Make sure the stitches join the edges of the lace
Step 9. Use an overlock sewing machine to sew along the pin line holding the 8.5 '' pieces together
Sew along where the pins are pointing.
Alternatively, make zigzag stitches by hand to sew the pieces together. Make sure the stitches join the edges of the lace
Step 10. Match the center line of the crotch piece with the sewn lines on the waistline
The center lines must line up perfectly.
Step 11. Sew the pieces together using a zigzag stitch or sewing machine
Use a thread of a color that matches the color of the lace, as it will show on the front of the thong.
Method 2 of 2: Crochet Thong
If you feel confident enough in your crochet skills, you can use one with some fluffy cotton thread to make a soft thong.
Step 1. Gather your materials
You will need a measuring tape, some cotton thread, a crochet hook, 4 cm thick elastic, a needle and some thread.
Step 2. Use the tape measure to measure the length of the area you want the thong to cover
This will be the top of the thong.
Step 3. Use the tape measure to measure the length between the front elastic of your panties to the back one, pulling a little between your legs
This will be the main part of the thong.
Step 4. Check the size of your jersey
Join 30 stitches together and make enough rows so that you have a 10 cm long piece.
Step 5. Use the measuring tape to figure out how many stitches you need in each row to get one cm
Step 6. Measure your shirt and count how many stitches there are in one cm
Step 7. Calculate the number of stitches you need to get to the top of your thong by multiplying the top measurement by the number of stitches per cm
Step 8. Calculate how many points you need to subtract the total
Take half the stitches per row in your jersey and subtract that number from the number in your first row.
Step 9. Divide the measurement you took for the middle in half
Step 10. Multiply this number by the row number per cm, as a result of your jersey
You will get the ranks you need to subtract.
Step 11. Take the total number of stitches you need to join the top of the thong and subtract the number of stitches per cm
You will get the number of points you need to subtract.
Step 12. Divide the row number you need to subtract by the number of points you need to subtract
You will get the number of points per row that you need to subtract.
Step 13. Make the number of chain stitches needed to create the top of the thong
Step 14. Make chain stitches, turn and make your first row in single stitches
Step 15. Make chain stitches and turn
Step 16. Subtract the number of crochet stitches per row as you continue making chain stitches
Continue subtracting until you have a 1cm wide row left.
