Do you have to climb one of those rare trees without branches? Or maybe you just have to climb a few meters before reaching a branch? It is not an impossible task, but it requires a lot of muscle strength and concentration. It's time to climb the branchless tree!
Steps
Step 1. Find the perfect tree to climb on
The tree should neither be rotten nor look dead, as otherwise it could collapse or make you fall. Once you find a branchless tree, you need to adopt a positive mindset that helps you climb. Consider the challenge of climbing the tree as meeting an opponent you have to defeat. In this way you will get into the right perspective.
Step 2. Grasp the shaft firmly
If you can join your hands behind the tree trunk, you will be able to have a good grip. Alternatively, try to grab the bark with your fingers. The goal of using your fingers is not to pull / hold you up, but to bring your body closer to the tree.
Step 3. Do not use spiked shoes on the tree
This can cause damage to the soft plant tissues that are located just below the bark. Use shoes with a good rubber or synthetic sole that guarantees excellent grip.
Step 4. Take a jump and plant both feet on the tree
Quickly push outwards and upwards diagonally from your face. In terms of physics, you have to overcome gravity with the force of the upward thrust, while the outward force will collide with the opposing force of your hands.
Step 5. Practice simply holding this position
If you can't hold the position for about a minute, you need to exercise more.
Step 6. Move higher
To move up, push up with your feet, slide your hands up and keep pulling. Then slide or move your feet upwards to reach the position described in step 4.
Step 7. Be cautious
Reach only the height where you feel comfortable. Don't take unnecessary risks and make sure you have a friend down in case of difficulty. Then come back down as carefully and slowly as possible. Don't challenge yourself by climbing a tree that is too big for you.
