The liver performs multiple functions that contribute to the good health of our body. The liver processes every food and every drink you ingest, as well as every substance you absorb through the skin, which is why it is often exposed to numerous harmful substances. Some of the signs that indicate a damaged liver include: allergies, malnutrition, high cholesterol and triglycerides, and even gallstones. A liver cleanse can help alleviate many of these ailments. Various detoxifying products are available in specialty stores for healthy eating, but if you wish, you can take care of cleansing your liver yourself using a few simple ingredients you have at home. This article contains a couple of methods for performing an effective liver cleanse.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Liver Cleansing 1
Step 1. Squeeze 2 large grapefruits and 3 lemons
Grapefruit boosts natural liver enzymes, and the vitamin C contained in both fruits helps the liver remove many free radicals.
Step 2. Grate 2 cloves of garlic and about 5cm of fresh ginger and add the two ingredients to the juice prepared in the previous step
Garlic protects the liver and ginger stimulates its good functioning. Look for ginger root at your local supermarket.
Step 3. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of cold pressed flaxseed oil
The omega 3 fatty acids contained in flax seeds promote a good balance of the bile levels produced by the liver.
Step 4. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of lactobacillus acidophilus
This important bacterium prevents the increase in triglycerides.
Step 5. If you wish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper, it promotes the stimulation of liver reflexes
Step 6. Blend all the ingredients and get a smooth and uniform drink
It is advisable to drink it at the following times: at 2 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm. You can multiply the doses of the ingredients indicated and prepare the 3 doses of the drink at once.
Step 7. Limit yourself to a light breakfast and a fresh fruit lunch
Do not eat anything after 2pm, i.e. after you have started cleaning. It is advisable to stay at home during the day of cleaning, and during the following day, or not to go too far, to cope with the possible laxative effect.
Method 2 of 2: Liver Cleanse 2
Step 1. Squeeze 3 or 4 large lemons into a pitcher, or large glass
Step 2. Dissolve 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate heptahydrate) in the lemon juice
They will act as a powerful laxative and will help you expel toxins released from the body during cleansing.
Step 3. Add 120ml of extra virgin olive oil
Olive oil stimulates the liver and gallbladder to excrete bile.
Step 4. Add 120ml of your favorite cola
It will improve the flavor of the drink while the caffeine contained will act to protect the liver.
Step 5. Mix your health potion and drink it
This liver cleanse should be done on an empty stomach. Eat only fresh fruit on the day of cleansing and stop eating any food about 4 hours before ingesting the drink.
Step 6. Drink it with 4 Ornithine capsules (500 mg each)
This step is optional. Ornithine is a non-protein amino acid capable of relaxing the body and promoting sleep, ensuring greater cleaning effectiveness.
-
If you choose to take ornithine capsules, drink your health potion before bedtime. Although it is possible to perform the cleaning at the desired time, during the day of cleaning, and during the following day it is advisable to stay at home, or not to go too far, to cope with the possible laxative effect.
Advice
- Cold-pressed flaxseed oil, ornithine capsules, lactobacillus acidophilus, and milk thistle can be found in health food stores.
- Always avoid high-fat foods and do not take acetaminophen-based medications.
- Before performing the liver cleanse it is advisable to undergo a colon and kidney cleansing. This cleansing will release a large amount of toxins into the bloodstream, so the kidneys should be in perfect condition to be able to filter and expel toxins. The colon will also help cleanse the body of these toxins.
- You can add milk thistle to both recipes, in liquid form (5 drops) or in capsules (2 x 120 mg capsules). Milk thistle promotes the repair of cells damaged by toxic substances.
