The NutriBullet is a latest generation food processor, designed to extract the nutrients contained in fruit and vegetables. This article will teach you how to use both of its functions, to prepare powders and drinks, but also how to clean it.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Blend and Grind with the NutriBullet
Step 1. Distinguish the two blades
The cross-shaped one is for blending, while the long and single one is for grinding. The former is used to transform fruit and vegetables into delicious smoothies, while the latter is used to pulverize dry ingredients, such as seeds. You will have to choose them according to the type of preparation: drink or powder.
Step 2. Place the NutriBullet on a flat surface near a power outlet
It is best to put it on the kitchen worktop or on a table. The base, that is the part from which the power cable comes out and on which the glass is mounted, must be kept away from water during use.
Step 3. Fill the glass with the desired ingredients
Use your favorite fruit and vegetables to make a nutritious drink or grind some seeds and nuts. The NutriBullet includes two glasses: a tall one with a capacity of approximately 700ml and a smaller one with a capacity of approximately 500ml. In both cases, be careful not to exceed the maximum capacity line when filling them.
- To make a nutrient- and vitamin-rich drink, use half fruit and half leafy vegetables.
- Cut the ingredients in half or in quarters if they do not fit whole in the glass.
- Grind almonds or oat flakes to make a substantial powder to add to yogurt or breakfast cereals.
Step 4. Add some liquid if you want to make a drink
The amount used determines the degree of density of the smoothie. If you want it to keep a full-bodied consistency, add only a little liquid. In any case, be careful not to exceed the maximum capacity line. You can use water, fruit juice, almond milk, or any other liquid ingredient of your choice.
Step 5. Place the blade you need on the cup
After entering the ingredients you want to blend or grind, cover the glass with the corresponding blade. Press it down and turn it to screw it firmly into the glass.
Step 6. Turn the glass over and attach it to the base
On the base there are two grooves on either side of the NutriBullet logo, in addition there are two round protrusions on the glass. What you need to do is to align the latter with the former. At this point, simply push the glass down to start blending or grinding the ingredients.
- Raise the glass to stop the work of the blades.
- It should take a few seconds to get the desired result.
Step 7. If necessary, tap or shake the glass to push the ingredients still whole towards the blade
Sometimes they may stick partially to the sides of the glass, especially if you haven't added enough liquid. In this case, just tap or shake it to direct them towards the blade.
- You can also add more liquid. To do this, detach the glass from the base, remove the blade and add whatever you want.
- Don't be afraid to tap or shake the whole NutriBullet without removing the glass from the base.
Step 8. Use the supplied lids to store drinks
Each pack contains two resealable lids that you can use when you don't finish your drinks. Just fix them carefully on the glasses and then put them in the refrigerator.
Part 2 of 2: Cleaning the NutriBullet
Step 1. You can wash the glass and lid in the dishwasher
Place them in the upper part of the appliance, the one reserved for glasses. The blades and base should never be placed in the dishwasher. You can wash the glass and lid with a normal wash cycle.
Step 2. Wash the glass, lid and blade in warm soapy water
Use a common dish soap to scrub the lid and glass, while being very careful when handling the blade as it is very sharp.
Step 3. Clean the base of the NutriBullet with a damp cloth
Unplug from the power outlet before you begin. Use a damp rag to remove any food residue.
Step 4. Eliminate stubborn, dry residue by blending some detergent into the glass
Use the blade to grind. Fill the glass 2/3 full with soapy water, then turn on the NutriBullet for 30 seconds. Any dry residue should peel off the walls. At this point you can clean the glass as normal, by hand or in the dishwasher.
Advice
It is not possible to blend apricot kernels, cherries, avocados, plums and apple seeds
Warnings
- After inserting the ingredients, check that the blade is screwed tightly to the glass so as not to risk splashing liquid everywhere.
