Acquiring public speaking skills may not be easy if you are typically insecure or withdrawn. However, a little practice and a little confidence boost will solve the problem many of us have when it comes to addressing an audience.
Steps
Step 1. Be well prepared
Practice presenting your speech in front of the mirror and bring some notes with you in case it helps. After all, it is better to take a quick look at the sheets in front of you rather than making a silent scene.
Step 2. Before starting the speech, breathe deeply
It is not as difficult as it may seem. Take slow, deep breaths.
Step 3. Organize your thoughts, and visualize a picture of the next steps in your mind
It is important to mentally outline what you will say so as not to find yourself stammering looking for words to continue with. You can practice writing your speech or practicing remembering the order of topics in advance.
Step 4. Make sure you have a thesis or point of view to support
There is nothing worse than letting yourself be pissed off by a speech of little value.
Step 5. Begin your talk by presenting your theory, then briefly outline your examples and evidence to support your thoughts
Sometimes a little humor can help manage tensions. Be creative!
Step 6. Slowly, view your examples and describe them one by one
Don't be afraid to add more or go into too much detail, these factors will make your presentation even more personal. When on stage, walk around a little, but not too much, look your audience in the eye and use your body language with gestures and expressions. Do not remain impassive and static so as not to risk boring your listeners.
Step 7. Have fun and be ready to answer any questions you may have
You can do it!
