This article shows you how to post images and videos on your Instagram profile and how to comment on posts posted by other people. You can do both using the Instagram mobile app or the social network's website. However, if you want to use your computer to post pictures or videos on Instagram, you will need to use Google Chrome or the application for Windows 10.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Publish Photos and Videos from Computer
Step 1. Make sure you have Google Chrome installed on your computer
If you haven't installed it yet, you can do it now by downloading the relevant file and following the instructions in this article.
If you are using a Mac that does not have Google Chrome installed, you can use the Safari browser by following these instructions
Step 2. Open a Google Chrome Incognito tab
First start the browser if you have not already done so, then press the button ⋮ located in the upper right corner of the program window and choose the option New incognito window.
- This step might seem pointless, but it actually ensures you don't have to log out of your Instagram account (and log in again).
- Alternatively, you can press the key combination Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + N (on Windows) or ⌘ Command + ⇧ Shift + N (on Mac) to open an Incognito window.
Step 3. Click the ⋮ icon
It is located in the upper right corner of the window. The Chrome main menu will appear.
Step 4. Choose the More Tools option
It is visible at the bottom of the appeared menu. A small submenu will appear to the left of the main one.
Step 5. Select the Developer Tools item
It is the last option listed in the menu that appeared. This will bring up the developer pane on the right side of the Chrome window.
Step 6. Click the "Toggle device toolbar" icon

If the "Toggle device toolbar" icon is already blue, it means that the view mode for mobile devices is already active
Step 7. Log in to the Instagram website
Select the address bar located at the top of the Google Chrome window (make sure to completely delete the URL already present), type the text string instagram.com and press the Enter key. The Instagram login page will be displayed.
Step 8. Log into your Instagram account
Push the button Log in located at the bottom of the page, then enter your profile credentials (username and password) and press the button Log in. The screen containing your Instagram feeds in the format used by mobile devices should appear.

Method 2 of 5: Posting a Comment from Computer
Step 1. Log in to the Instagram website

Method 3 of 5: Publish Photos and Videos from Mobile Device
Step 1. Launch the Instagram app
Tap the app icon featuring a multicolored camera. If you are already logged in with your user profile, you will be automatically redirected to the main Instagram page.

Step 2. Press the + button
It is located at the bottom center of the screen. This will bring up the main camera control interface of the devices.

Step 3. Choose one of the upload options
Select one of the three items that appeared at the bottom of the screen:

- Video - the app that controls the camera of the device will be launched with which it will be possible to capture a new video.
Step 4. Select an existing photo or video or create a new one
The selected content will be displayed on the Instagram screen that allows you to modify the image at will through the use of special filters.
- If you have chosen an existing photo or video, press the button Come on located in the upper right corner of the screen to continue.
- When you choose to publish an existing photo instead of taking a new one, you have the option to make a multiple selection of images by tapping the icon consisting of two overlapping squares located on the right side of the screen. You can select up to nine images that will be published at the same time. In this way, a sort of photographic presentation will be created that people can consult by scrolling through the various images.
Step 5. Choose a filter
Tap the type of filter you want to apply to the photo or video.
- After selecting the filter to use, tapping the relative icon again will display a slider with which you can reduce the effect of the filter on the chosen image or video.
- You can also access the tab Edit located at the bottom of the screen to be able to modify other graphic aspects of the selected image or video (for example the Brightness or the Contrast).
Step 6. Press the Next button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Add a description
Tap the text field at the top of the screen, then type the description you want to add to the chosen image or video. It will be displayed as a caption.
- At this point, you can also tag your Instagram friends who appear in the photo or video by choosing the option Tag people, selecting the image and choosing the friends to tag.
- To also include the location where the photo was taken in the post, choose the option add location, then select the location to tag.
Step 8. Press the Share button

Step 1. Install the Instagram application

Step 13. Post a comment on a post created by other users
To post a comment using the Instagram app for Windows 10 follow these instructions:
- Click the cartoon icon located at the bottom of the post you want to comment;
- If you need to reply to another comment that already exists, press the button Answers placed under the latter;

- Push the button Publish located on the right side of the comment text box.

- When you log in to Instagram using the version of Google Chrome for mobile devices, you can drag down the mouse cursor visible in the center of the screen to scroll through the content of the pages.
