You can create a Netflix account in several ways: directly from the platform's website, via the mobile app or by selecting the Netflix channel using the streaming device connected to the TV. Most streaming devices (such as Sky-provided Roku) require creating a Netflix account to be done over the web, while others (such as the Apple TV) will guide you through creating a new account directly from the TV. Steps
Method 1 of 3: Use the Netflix website
Step 1. Use an internet browser to access the URL www.netflix.com
It doesn't matter what type of device you choose to use, to create a Netflix account, simply log in to its website. When you create a new profile for the first time, you have the option of a one-month free trial.
- Despite the free trial month, a valid payment method, such as a credit card, PayPal account, or Netflix prepaid card, must be provided to complete the registration process.
- If you choose to cancel your subscription within the first month, you will not be charged any fees. A few days after the free trial period expires, you will receive an e-mail message that will give you the option to cancel your subscription.
Step 2. Press the "Subscribe for one month free" button
At this point, you will be guided through a series of screens relating to the registration process.
Step 3. Select the "Show plans" link to view the available options
The list of subscribable plans will be displayed, along with a brief description of each and its costs.
Step 4. Choose the subscription plan you prefer, then press the "Continue" button
Currently, Netflix offers three types of subscriptions to choose from:
- Basic - this is the cheapest option, which allows you to access the contents of the platform from only one device at a time. If you don't need to share your account with other people, you can safely choose this plan. In this case, high definition (HD) content is not available.
- Standard - this subscription allows you to enjoy high definition content on up to 2 devices at the same time. If you want to share your Netflix account with another person via this subscription, you will be able to watch your favorite content in high definition at the same time.
- Premium - this is the most complete option that allows up to 4 different streaming devices connected at the same time. In this case, you can also view content compatible with the new Ultra HD format: perfect for owners of televisions with a 4K video resolution.
Step 5. Create a new account
Enter your e-mail address and the corresponding login password in the text fields provided, then press the "Continue" button.
Step 6. Choose a payment method
All available options will be shown on the screen.
- Netflix accepts all major credit cards, as well as Visa and Mastercard debit cards.
- In Italy and other countries, you can also use your PayPal profile to register for Netflix. PayPal allows you to make online payments by relying on the user's bank account or credit card.
- If you don't have a credit card or PayPal account, you can avail Netflix prepaid gift cards available in many states. Normally, these gift cards are sold in numerous businesses: from supermarkets to electronics stores.
Step 7. Enter the details of the chosen payment method
To enter your payment information, follow the instructions that appear on the screen (or provide your PayPal profile login credentials).
Step 8. Start your Netflix adventure
To complete the registration process, press the button at the bottom of the page. From now on, you have the option to enjoy streaming Netflix content (movies and TV series) from all supported devices.
Method 2 of 3: Use an App for Android or iOS Systems
Step 1. Go to the Google Play Store (Android systems) or the Apple App Store (iOS systems)
The first step in gaining access to Netflix's world of content is to install the relevant application on your smartphone or tablet. Again, when you create your first account, you are entitled to a one-month free subscription.
- In order to sign up for a Netflix subscription, you must provide a valid payment method, such as a credit card, PayPal account, or Netflix prepaid gift card.
- If you choose to cancel your subscription within the first month, you will not be charged any costs. A few days after the free trial period expires, you will receive an e-mail message that will give you the option to cancel your subscription.
Step 2. Search for the Netflix app
Type the keyword "Netflix" into the search field, then select the magnifying glass icon.
Step 3. At this point, tap on the Netflix app that appeared in the search results list
The Netflix app is published by Netflix Inc. and its download is completely free.
Step 4. Press the "Install" button
The application will be installed on your device.
Step 5. Launch the Netflix app
At the first start, the application will show a message inviting you to subscribe to a new subscription to the service.

Method 3 of 3: Use Roku
Step 1. Go to the main Roku GUI screen
If you have a Roku device for streaming content via the internet connected to the TV, you can use it to also access the contents of the Netflix platform. Once the boot process is complete, the Roku device will show the Home screen of the graphical interface.
Step 2. Select the "Netflix" option located on the Home
If that option isn't available, here's how to turn it on:
- Select "Streaming Channels" (or "Store channels" if you own the Roku 1) from the menu on the left of the screen.
- Choose the "Movies & TV" option.
- Choose the "Netflix" option, then select the "Add Channel" item.
Step 3. Create a Netflix account
The Roku developers recommend that you perform the procedure for creating a Netflix profile directly from the website www.netflix.com via an internet browser. Before continuing, please follow the steps described in this section of the article.
Step 4. Sign in to Netflix through Roku
Now that the Netflix profile creation is complete, press the "Sign In" button (on most Roku models), then type in your Netflix login username and password. After logging in, you will have access to all Netflix content accessible with your subscription. If you own a Roku 1, follow these steps:
- By selecting the Netflix item you will be redirected to a new screen where you will be asked if you are already subscribed to the service. Select the "Yes" option to display an access code on the screen.
- Launch your computer's internet browser, then visit the URL www.netflix.com/activate.
- Enter the activation code provided by Roku on the screen that appears. Once activation is complete, you will be able to access all streaming content provided by the Netflix platform from your Roku device.
