You have been writing music for more than a year and you feel that the time has come to show the world something of what you have created. Unfortunately, you don't have the time or money to be in a luxurious recording studio with dozens of people dedicated to you. Fortunately for us, nowadays there is a "do it yourself" solution for everything, and these are the instructions for "homemade" recording!
Steps
Step 1. Get a tape recorder
Find out and find a recorder that fits your needs. Tascam and Roland are a guarantee when it comes to recording, but there are other products that will allow you to make your music known.
Step 2. Familiarize yourself with the recorder you have purchased
Read the long manual or test yourself. Think about how the recorder effects could be used in your songs and keep the recorder features in mind.
Step 3. Choose a song to start with and record the whole band simultaneously
The quality of the sound is not as important as the rhythmic regularity and a good feeling in the performance.
Step 4. Play over the recording one at a time
It is not necessary to follow a specific order, but still make sure that they continue playing until they have played their part perfectly. You may prefer a phrase-by-phrase recording rather than the entire song.
Step 5. Mix the tracks of your song, if they turned out well
Use the "pan" to separate the tracks on the two different stereo channels. Try to imagine where the sound might come from if the whole band was playing in front of you.
Step 6. Equalize the different tracks and balance the volumes
In order to have a good balance, the bass should be in the foreground.
Step 7. Add the effects you have already thought about inserting
They help make vocals fit better on top of instrumentals, and make the music more fluid.
Step 8. Record all other songs in this way as well, until you have about fifteen
Then you can choose which of these deserve to be on your album.
Step 9. Record the CD through a recorder or a computer, and listen to it
If a song doesn't sound right, you can decide to record it again.
Step 10. Design the disc cover, making the CD as attractive as possible for sale
Bring it to a music store and agree on a price for the sale. Don't be afraid of being judged if you want to hear it.
