Spider-Man has been a famous character in comics and the world of cinema for dozens of years, and his costume has been reproduced in different versions over time. No matter which version you choose, with one of these Spider-Man costumes you'll be ready for action right away. You can choose between the original comic book costume, the Ultimate Spider Man costume, the Amazing Spider Man movie costume or many more.
Steps
Method 1 of 9: Original Comic Book Costume
Step 1. Buy a standard costume
Don't worry, you'll make any necessary changes later.
Step 2. Get a piece of wire window mesh
It will be essential for the eyes.
Step 3. Buy acrylic or spray paint
It will be used to paint the wire mesh.
Step 4. Buy lenses that fit your costume online
Step 5. Purchase black 3D paint to emphasize the spider web design on the body and mask
Get about eight half-liter bottles for a single costume.
Step 6. Buy a pair of running shoes
Trim the tops of the shoes so that only the sole, toe and heel are retained. Paint them the same color as the costume.
Step 7. Start painting the spider web texture with 3D paint
Lay the costume and mask on a flat surface and, after you're done with one side, let it sit and dry for about two hours.
Step 8. Paint the wire mesh
Don't worry, you'll see great.
Step 9. Glue the wire mesh to the lenses and then glue the lenses to the mask
Step 10. Sew or glue the running shoes to the bottom of the costume
Step 11. Have the costume adjusted to fit snugly
Step 12. Make a web shooter using aluminum foil, straw, and a folding model that you can find online
Method 2 of 9: Ultimate Spider-Man Costume (Miles Morales)
Step 1. Get a black spandex costume
Step 2. Stock up on red 3D paint
You will need it to reproduce the drawing of the cobwebs.
Step 3. Buy The Amazing Spiderman sunglasses made by Disguise Costumes or another brand
They can be found easily on Amazon.com or at other online retailers.
Step 4. Buy some red acrylic paint
Step 5. Cut out the sunglasses
Cut the bridge and rods. Then paint the outside of the lenses with the red acrylic paint.
Step 6. Observe the texture of the cobwebs in the cartoon images
Try to replicate it as carefully as possible using red 3D paint.
Step 7. Glue the lenses to the mask
Step 8. Add the web shooters
Proceed as explained for the classic costume, but wear them over the onesie.
Method 3 of 9: The Amazing Spider-Man Costume (2012 movie)
Step 1. Buy a Spider-Man costume at a store
While that's not quite what you had in mind, it's the best choice for as accurate a replica as possible, unless you're ready to shell out at least a hundred bucks for more accurate reproduction.
Step 2. Buy some red 3D paint, black 3D paint, and blue oil paint
Step 3. Buy glove and boot covers made by Disguise Costumes or other brands
You can easily find them on Amazon.com or at other online retailers.
Step 4. Purchase a pair of Asics Gel Dirt-Dog 3 running shoes
They are exactly the same shoes that Peter Parker cuts out in the film to attach to his costume.
Step 5. Buy The Amazing Spider-Man Sunglasses
You will need to paint them just like in the case of the Miles Morales costume, but this time you will have to use blue paint instead of red.
Step 6. Detach the lenses attached to the mask
You will need to replace them with sunglasses lenses.
Step 7. Have the costume altered to fit snugly
Take it to a seamstress or make the changes yourself if you know how to sew.
Step 8. Add a zipper to the back of the costume and replace the buttons, if any
This way your costume will look more attractive.
Step 9. Start painting the beehive pattern between the cobwebs with red paint
Try to follow the pattern as faithfully as possible.
Step 10. Paint the web and spider with relief paint
Step 11. Paint the spider with the red 3D paint on the back
To make it symmetrical, trace half of the spider to one side and fold it in half, thus replicating the design you just created.
Step 12. Paint the blue beehive pattern on the same color part of the costume
Use blue oil paint.
Step 13. Glue the sunglasses to the mask and the shoe soles to the bottom of the costume
Step 14. Buy web shooters online
Method 4 of 9: The Amazing Spiderman 2 costume
Step 1. Buy a red costume
If necessary, cut out the holes for the eyes.
Step 2. Cut out the shape of the eyes from a piece of white fabric
Then sew them onto the costume. If you are unable to sew, you can always glue them with suitable glue.
Step 3. Use a highlighter or black marker to draw the outline of the eyes
Step 4. Use a thin black marker to paint the lines of your costume
Step 5. Print the Spider-Man logo
You can find it on the internet. If you don't have a printer, draw it in the center of the costume.
Step 6. Cut out the blue fabric to apply in the distinctive points of the costume
Glue or sew the blue fabric directly onto the costume.
Step 7. Buy a pair of Asics Gel Dirt-Dog 3 running shoes
Cut out the bottom of the shoes and glue it to the costume.
Step 8. That's it
You are ready to use your Spiderman 2 costume!
Method 5 of 9: Superior Spider-man costume (Doctor Octopus)
Step 1. Buy a red costume
When Doctor Octopus took over Peter's body, he created a new red and black costume.
Step 2. Stock up on black paint
Step 3. Put on the red costume and make a mark to indicate you will need to paint
Watch the comic to understand how to reproduce the spider and web.
Step 4. Start painting
This process takes time, so try to be patient and careful. Try to follow the cartoon image as much as possible.
Step 5. Cut out the eye holes on the mask
Step 6. Buy Amazing Spiderman sunglasses made by Disguise Costumes or other brands
They are available on Amazon or other online retailers.
Step 7. Cut out the sunglasses
Cut the rods and the bridge, then paint the outside black.
Step 8. Glue the lenses to the mask
Step 9. Cut out the soles of a pair of pool slippers and glue them to the swimsuit
Step 10. Make web shooters just like in the comic
Cut a small hole in the gloves at the wrist to let the nozzle come out.
Step 11. You are done
You are ready to go out, fight crime and tarnish Peter Parker's memory.
Method 6 of 9: Scarlet Spider costume (Ben Riley)
Step 1. Buy a red swimsuit, sleeveless blue sweatshirt and wire mesh
Step 2. Cut out the eye holes on the costume mask
Step 3. Sew the sweatshirt to the costume, but don't put the hood on
Step 4. Look at the images of the spider from the comic and reproduce it as accurately as possible on the sweatshirt
Make sure the spider is in a corner, just like in the comic.
Step 5. Spray white paint on the wire mesh
It will serve for the eyes.
Step 6. Cut out the wire mesh following the shape of the Ben Riley mask lenses and fold the lenses to fit the shape of the head
Glue them.
Step 7. Try on the costume:
done.
Method 7 of 9: Spiderman with Black Suit
Step 1. Buy a shiny black costume
It should appear very bright in the light and almost look like leather.
Step 2. Purchase lenses that fit a Spider-Man costume
For example, a model similar to those produced by McFarlane, since they are the most similar to the comic.
Step 3. Buy some white 3D paint
You will need it to make the spider.
Step 4. Cut out the eye holes on the costume mask
Step 5. 3D paint the spider on the front and back
If possible, print it first and then paint the design to achieve a more three-dimensional effect.
Step 6. Use a blow dryer or heat gun to curl the lenses
Step 7. Glue the lenses to the mask with fabric glue
Step 8. That's it
Method 8 of 9: Vigilante Spider-Man Costume (from 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man movie)
Step 1. Buy a black M-65 jacket
The other black jackets will not have the same effect. Trust me.
Step 2. Buy a pair of plain sunglasses
You need a no-nonsense model with a black plastic frame.
Step 3. Buy a dark red (burgundy) costume
Step 4. Buy a black cap
Just like the ones you wear in winter or to look like a hipster.
Step 5. Buy a pair of Asics Gel Dirt Dog 3
Possibly the red and silver model, but the yellow and black one is also fine.
Step 6. Buy some red 3D paint and tip applicators
Step 7. Cut out the eye holes on the costume mask
Step 8. Sew the cap to the mask
Make sure you roll the bottom edge up a little.
Step 9. Paint a beehive pattern over the entire mask with 3D paint
Remember that Peter Parker himself used this type of mask to create the actual costume.
Step 10. When the dimensional paint has dried, use the fabric glue on the glasses and glue the bridge and temples right onto the mask
Step 11. Buy web shooters on the internet
Since they are not the ones used in the final costume, it is best to leave the watch bezel attached. If you can afford it, buy the web shooter from eBay for around 230 euros.
Step 12. Assemble the various pieces
Method 9 of 9: Spider-Man 2099 costume (Miguel O'Hara)
Step 1. Order a bright dark blue costume
Make sure it's very polished, just like in the comic.
Step 2. Buy some red 3D paint
You'll need a lot of it.
Step 3. If you are capable, make a cloak
It will have to look like it is made of cobwebs.
Step 4. Buy some Batman gloves and cut off the hand
You will only need the forearm part.
Step 5. Reproduce the design on the costume
Make sure the spider looks like a skull with spider legs coming out of it. It is very important to make it so that it looks as terrifying as possible.
Step 6. Color the remaining part of the gloves
Paint it the same bright blue as the jumpsuit and sew them to the costume.
Step 7. Use the 3D paint to make the designs around the eyes
Miguel O'Hara's costume had no lenses, Spider-Man could see through the thin material of the mask. Paint it to create a pair of angry, arched brows.
Step 8. Cut out the insoles from an old (or even new) pair of slippers
Attach them to the bottom of the costume. If you can't sew, use fabric glue.
Step 9. Make sure your costume matches your wishes
Make any necessary adjustments and then try to put it on.
Advice
- Use the pointed applicator to apply the red 3D paint and blue oil paint on the Amazing Spider-Man costume.
