Do you want to take 10 in all subjects? Read the article to learn how to study like Hermione Granger and excel at school!
Steps
Part 1 of 5: Organize the study area
Step 1. Have a good area to study
You will need a large desk and possibly a bookshelf or bookshelves. Also prepare a quill and lots of ink (for Muggles, don't run out of feathers - buy plenty of them).
Part 2 of 5: Staying Organized
Step 1. Use different books / notebooks for each subject so you don't get confused
Step 2. Draw up agendas
Hermione writes everything on the diaries. The agenda for organizing your homework may seem like a nerd thing, but useful if you want to be like Hermione Granger, the Know-It-All. If you prefer to skip this step, no problem, but remember that the real Hermione would never be offended (except the first time she was called Half-Blood, but we can understand why she was offended, we all have limits!).
To create a homework diary, get a suitable ring notebook. Use a spell to prevent access to strangers and decorate the interior. Also do another spell so that the notebook tells you a quote every time you open it (Hermione and Ron did the same for Harry). But make sure you know how to use spells correctly. If you don't have a clue about how to use them, like Muggles, use ink or colored pens for quotes and glue and fun decorations to make the notebook look "enchanted"
Part 3 of 5: Develop good study practices
Step 1. Take notes on everything
This way, when it's time to study, you'll have all the information you need.
Make a note in the format that works best for you; do not copy other formats unless you think they are valid. Often, it is best to develop a personal method for underlining, for shortening, and for summing up
Step 2. Ask yourself questions about what you are reading
This will help you understand if you have understood what you have read or not.
- Read the passage or paragraphs.
- Think about some reading-based questions.
- Read the passage or paragraph again and answer the questions.
Part 4 of 5: Make studying more enjoyable
Step 1. If you don't like studying, set yourself goals or treat yourself to study awards
For example: "After 30 minutes of math problems, I can eat a piece of chocolate." Also include physical breaks as rewards; for example, after an hour of study, give yourself five minutes of walking or stretching before getting back to work.
Step 2. If you don't like some subjects, turn Science into Potions or Math into Arithmomancy
Step 3. Have fun while you study
While it's not always easy, add a bit of fun to the study. If you find a particularly interesting topic, find out more on your own and learn as much as possible to surprise the teacher.
Step 4. Listen to the music
Hermione doesn't listen to music, but if you like it and if it helps you study, choose some music of the genre you like best, such as Blues, Jazz, R&B, Pop Rock, etc.
Step 5. Study with other people
Hermione often studies in the Gryffindor common room with her housemates. The library is another great place to study with others in silence. Being in company while studying is better to share the agony!
- To make studying more interesting, work with a friend (but make sure you don't get distracted).
- Study groups are also helpful.
Part 5 of 5: Study regularly
Step 1. Study all the time, but don't forget to sleep
Sleep will make you look more beautiful and make you feel fresher by improving your concentration.
Step 2. Study several weeks in advance
If you know you have an important test at the end of the year, ask the teacher what you need to do to get the highest grade and study all the time until you are sure you have given your best. Do the same for all subjects.
Advice
- If you are too obsessed with the internet, or if you keep getting distracted around the house, go to the library; not only will you concentrate better, but if you can't find some information, you can consult the available books.
- Grab a beaded handbag, add a spell, and keep all the school supplies in it.
- Get different colored pens for each subject and when reading an exam passage (the Muggle versions of the OWL exams) use different highlighters to underline different things - yellow for important people, pink for dates, etc.
Warnings
- If you need to set up a very large desk or shelves, get someone to help you, like your mother, friend, etc.
- Don't spend too much time studying and don't put off too many appointments with friends.
