Do you want to be like Harry Potter's sweet and good as well as incredibly shrewd and intelligent friend, Hermione Granger? Find out how to become the look-alike of the beloved character in the hit magic series.
Steps
Step 1. Curl your hair so that it looks "bushy", as this is how Hermione's hair is often described
In the movies, her hair varies from wavy to curly, but it's curly and thick by nature in the books. In short, naturally curly hair will do, whether yours is wavy, with spiral curls or with thick curls. All of these types will be ideal. Leave your hair natural! If they're not already curly and you don't like the idea of using the hot curling iron, then try the following methods:
Step 2. After the shower, leave your hair slightly damp and divide it into several sections
Roll each section around itself into a small bun and sleep on it. You should wake up with some nice waves.
Step 3. Divide the wet hair into sections (if you have thick hair, there will be a lot more) and braid them
You could sleep with braids or keep them on for half a day. You will end up with some nice waves.
-
Curlers will also give you beautiful Hermione hair.
-
You can also dye your hair a light brown shade and wear brown contact lenses if your eyes aren't already dark.
-
Finally, in the last movie, Hermione has her hair braided, so a single braid that falls down her back will do.
Step 4. Imitate her wardrobe
Fashion is not at the top of Hermione's thoughts, she places more emphasis on books than looks. However, that doesn't mean he lets himself go. Just remember to go for a clean, simple and modest style.
Step 5. School uniform: consists of a V-neck sweater, a white buttoned shirt with a Gryffindor tie, a pleated skirt, knee highs or stockings, Mary Jane shoes, a black cloak and a wizard tunic (the uniforms of the former and second year they are gray, then they turn black). You may want to add a Gryffindor beret and a scarf in the house colors (gold and red), which you can knit yourself. Maybe you could add a prefect badge
Step 6. Casual clothes: As Hogwarts is quite cold, Hermione opts for warm clothes when dressing up as a Muggle. They include chunky coats, jackets, striped or other patterned knits, chinos, cargo or corduroy pants, jeans and a good pair of sneakers. You can also imitate Emma Watson's wardrobe inspired by the movies, thus putting on sweaters, sweatshirts and chinos with a classic and cute style
Step 7. Formal dress: on elegant occasions, Hermione smoothes her hair and leaves the ends wavy. Make sure your hair has plenty of volume (this will have the same effect as Hermione's Sleekeazy Hair Potion). Wear elaborate clothing for special events. During the fourth year, Hermione attended the Yule Ball wearing a periwinkle blue dress; in the film, the dress is a dirty pink color. In the book "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", she wears a light purple dress at Bill and Fleur's wedding; in the film, he is wearing a red cape
Step 8. Pajamas: You can wear a long nightgown with a light colored dressing gown and a pair of slippers or a plain shirt with pants, slippers and a dressing gown.
Step 9. Go for minimalist and very natural makeup
Hermione doesn't care much about her appearance, so remember that it's your personality that matters, not what you wear or your look. However, a light foundation, lip balm, natural-colored eyeshadow, and mascara can bring out your features without making the look look too loaded. Hermione also has well-defined brows; you can use a brush to comb them and fix them with a gel to get her look.
Step 10. Carry some books you are reading (or haven't returned to the library yet) in a beige shoulder bag
You could also include books like "Quidditch Through the Ages", "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" or "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" which have actually been published (or you could create fake covers).
Step 11. Get a wand
Hermione's wand (before it was stolen) was made of grapevine and was also made of a dragon's heart string, a fairly dark color. You can use a sprig to make the wand, make one out of clay, paint a pencil, or use whatever convinces you.
Step 12. Consider adopting a cat
Maybe a big, long-haired, flat-nosed one so that it looks like Hermione's, Crookshanks. This is a tawny Persian cat, but these cats can be expensive. You could also opt for a similar-looking stuffed cat.
Step 13. Accessories
You could wear a C. R. E. P. A. pin, a rough wool hat like the ones he made for house elves, or a gold chain with a small hourglass charm (to represent the Time-Turner).
Step 14. Always take care of your personal hygiene, just like Hermione does
Advice
- If you don't have any hair styling products or tools, take a shower before bed and braid your hair while it's still damp. The next morning, undo your braids and brush your hair. This should allow you to achieve Hermione's “bushy” style.
- If you want to buy some clothes to create a Hermione-style outfit but are strapped for cash, pop into your town's second-hand clothing stores. You may shiver at the thought of wearing recycled pieces but it will save you a lot of money and, as a bonus, help the environment (an attitude very reminiscent of Hermione).
- When in doubt, go to the library. Reading the Harry Potter books carefully can give you new inspiration for the Hermione look.
- Search the internet for inspiration in order to create themed outfits that are reminiscent of Hermione! Type "Hermione Granger Outfits", or something similar, in the search engine and several photos will appear.
- Try to find a knitting course if you are not yet able to do it, or you can ask your grandmother to teach you. Also, look for some guidelines online.
Warnings
- Never dye your hair without your parents' approval.
- Some people think Hermione has blonde hair. That's not the case, so make sure you don't badly dye yours. If your hair is blonde, you can also wear a wig.
- It's best to reserve the Hogwarts uniform for special occasions, like when you watch Harry Potter with your friends or go to a costume party. Some of these items are too expensive for everyday use.
