Unless otherwise specified in the clauses, Groupon allows you to buy deals for services, holidays, events or products for the purpose of giving a gift. You can send someone a deal and even add a custom message in just a few steps.
Steps
Step 1. Visit the Groupon website
Write "www.groupon.it" in your browser or click here to visit Groupon.it.
Step 2. Log in with your Groupon account
Click on "Login" in the upper right corner and enter the required data.
If you don't have a Groupon account, click "Register" to create one. You will be prompted to enter your personal details to open a new account
Step 3. Click on a deal you wish to gift
Go through the deal list on the site until you find one you'd like to give away.
You can find deals by visiting the menus of the various categories listed at the top of the page or by using the search bar at the top of the screen if you have a specific gift in mind
Step 4. Click on the deal you prefer
A new page will open which will explain in detail what it is.
Some offers appear both in plain sight on the main page and on the corresponding category page. To view them, all you have to do is click on them or on the "View deal" button
Step 5. Click on the "Gift" button
It is located on the right side of the page, under the green "Buy" button.
- Not all Groupon deals can be given away.
- Deal options are often different. For example, if you buy tickets for a match, you will need to specify which seats you prefer in the options. Make sure you select the correct option for your gift before continuing.
Step 6. Send a personalized card
A pop-up window will appear allowing you to send a personalized card to the gift recipient.
Step 7. Enter the recipient's details
Type your name, email address and a short message in the corresponding fields.
Step 8. Click on "Continue with your purchase"
This button is located at the bottom of the screen and will take you to the page where you can make the payment.
You can print a personalized ticket and voucher by selecting "Print" at the top of the window. Enter the message you want to write. Once your order is complete, you will need to click on "My Groupons" in the upper right corner of the page, under your name. You will find a printable PDF file that will contain all the information associated with the purchased deal
Step 9. Enter all required data on the payment method
Write your credit or debit card information in the corresponding fields.
Step 10. Confirm your order
Click on the green "Confirm Order" button on the right side of the screen to complete the process.
Step 11. Check your email to see if you have received your order confirmation
After the order has been processed, a confirmation message will be sent to you.
- Groupon will send the gift to the recipient via email with all the necessary instructions on how to use the deal. You too will receive a confirmation email once the deal has been delivered.
- If you want to view, make changes or check the status of your order, you can click on the "My Groupons" link on the confirmation page.
Advice
- Although the price of Groupon deals is not explicitly stated to the recipient, in some cases the cost may be indicated, as happens for example with specialized and personalized orders from third parties.
- If you want to buy a Groupon deal for yourself and another as a gift, you will need to place two separate orders.
- It is currently not possible to gift gifts on Groupon using the mobile app.
