If you want your hair to look shorter without cutting it, there are a few methods you can try. It can be useful for a game, for costume parties, to try out a different look or to see how short hair will fit.
Steps
Method 1 of 6: Ponytail for Layered Hair
This method only works for heavily layered hair.
Step 1. Make a ponytail with your hair
Do not put the shorter hair in the ponytail, on the contrary, leave it free. The ponytail can be left as is or lifted and held close to the hairline.
Method 2 of 6: Put on a Cap
Step 1. Wear a hat, if the situation allows you
Group your hair and put it all inside a hat. You will need to rearrange them well to make them even at the nape of the neck. Try not to leave loose hair lying around: tuck them all under the hat!
Method 3 of 6: Hairpins
Step 1. Pull your hair back at the front of your head from ear to ear as if there was an elastic band
Use a hair tie to make sure they stay in place.
Step 2. Divide the rest of your hair into four or five sections
Step 3. Bring the first section of hair forward so that it falls on your face
Put on a bobby pin, then pull the remaining hair back and put on another bobby pin.
Step 4. Do the same with the other sections of hair
Step 5. Now move the front hair back towards the bobby pins
Try hiding the hairpins with the hair from the front of the head.
Step 6. Try to arrange your new look as best you can, so that it fits the "new length" of your hair
Method 4 of 6: Hairpin
Step 1. Grab your hair and put a bobby pin at the hairline of the scalp
If you have layered hair, put a bobby pin at the bottom of your hair first and then let the longer layers fall on top of it.
Method 5 of 6: Half Chignon
Step 1. Tie your long hair into a half up bun (not full)
Let the rest of the hair fall to your shoulders.
Method 6 of 6: Hairdresser, Save Me
Step 1. Ask your hairdresser if he can do something with your hair to make it look shorter, without cutting it
Step 2. If none of the previous methods worked, think about whether or not it would simply be a good idea to have your hair cut by your hairdresser
If your haircut is absolutely awful after going to the hairdresser, remember it's only a matter of time - your hair will be back to normal!
Advice
- If you want to know what looks best for you, you can try a style changer site, where you can upload a photo of yourself and change your haircut.
- Another option is to use a wig, especially if you're doing it for fun or for a costume party.
