If you want to transform into a real greaser, be prepared to use large amounts of grease on your hair. If you don't know where to buy it, or if you prefer to save money, here is a simple low cost recipe to prepare it yourself!
Ingrediants
- Vegetable oil of your choice
- Vegetable fat
- Perfumed Essential Oil
- Beeswax
Steps
Step 1. Get the ingredients you need
Read the section reserved for ingredients and choose a scented essential oil based on your personal tastes.
Step 2. In a clean pan, melt the beeswax using a low heat
Stir constantly until liquid. Then pour the melted wax into a container.
Step 3. Add the vegetable oil and fat to the hot wax
In this way, the wax will not return to its completely solid state when it cools down.
Step 4. Add your chosen essential oil, such as peppermint, to perfume your grease
Step 5. Let the grease cool down and make sure the consistency is correct, neither too hard nor too soft
Only in this way will it guarantee a good hold of the hair.
Step 6. If necessary, heat the mixture to change its consistency
- If it is too stiff, increase the amount of oil or fat.
- If it is too soft, increase the amount of beeswax.
Step 7. For extra shine, add more vegetable oil or fat
If you wish, you can thicken the grease with an addition of baking soda.
Advice
- Make sure the oil and vegetable fat you use are not old or rancid, or they will smell bad.

You can get the grease out of your hair in one of the following ways:
- Rub the cornstarch into damp or dry hair to help absorb the oil, then use the shampoo as usual.
- If the shampoo isn't enough to remove it, use a small amount of dish soap.
- After the first few tries, create a large amount of grease, to be a true greaser you will need to use a lot of it.
Warnings
- Always be careful when handling hot wax!
- Don't melt the wax in the microwave, use the stove.
- Keep the grease out of the reach of children.
- Keep the grease away from your mouth and eyes.
- Do not replace beeswax with an artificial wax such as paraffin. Otherwise you will get a grainy and crumbly mixture.
- Use only edible and natural oils, not petrolatum or artificially scented.
