The shampoo sold in the form of a stick is solid and is an ecological alternative to the liquid one. This product can last a long time (about 80 washes) and is not harmful to the environment, as it is not packaged using plastic containers. Being solid and compact, it is also practical for traveling. You can choose a shampoo to meet the needs of any type of scalp, including removing grease, fighting dandruff or moisturizing the hair follicles. To use it, just moisten the hair, massage the dough on the scalp and lather.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Wash Your Hair
Step 1. Moisten your hair in the shower
Enter the shower cubicle and moisten your hair with warm water until it is completely impregnated. The wetter they are, the easier it will be to apply the shampoo.
On average, this process should take about 1-2 minutes
Step 2. Lightly moisten the block in the shower
To apply the shampoo easily, it is useful to lather it a little before use. Hold it under the stream of water that comes out of the shower head and rub it between your hands. You can also warm it slightly between your palms as you moisten it.
Do this for about 10-30 seconds
Step 3. Massage the block directly onto the scalp using light pressure
Once you have moistened and slightly warmed the solid shampoo, bring it to the top of your head. Rub the block back and forth across the top of your head until it has plenty of lather on your hair and scalp. If you have particularly thick hair, it may also be necessary to part it in the center and / or from ear to ear to be able to reach all areas of the scalp.
The amount of shampoo to use depends on your hair type. In general, you will be sure that you have used enough when your scalp appears heavily soapy
Step 4. Distribute the shampoo on your hair after lathering it
Once your scalp has been covered in a thick layer of foam, focus on massaging the shampoo into this area. The product will flow by itself on the lengths. Distribute the shampoo evenly all over the scalp for a deep cleansing.
- To massage your head, move your fingertips (but not your nails) back and forth across the scalp during the procedure.
- If the solid shampoo you use contains essential oils, this movement will help you get them into your scalp.
Step 5. Rinse your hair well
Once you have thoroughly cleaned your scalp and hair, put your head under the jet of water to rinse off the foam and shampoo residue. Continue rinsing your hair until the product is completely eliminated.
The duration of this procedure depends on the thickness of the hair
Step 6. Use a solid conditioner if you want to nourish your hair even more
In general, using a solid shampoo is more than enough for soft, silky hair. However, you can also use a solid conditioner instead of a liquid product if you have decided to follow a waste-free lifestyle. To use it, rinse your hair, massage the stick on the middle area of the hair and distribute it to the ends. Then, rinse it thoroughly.
- If you want to further hydrate and discipline your hair, leave it on for 1-5 minutes.
- Do not apply the conditioner to the scalp, otherwise the hair may become greasy to the eye and touch.
- While it is certainly possible to use a liquid conditioner if you prefer, the solid one is great for softening and strengthening the hair.
Method 2 of 2: Store the Solid Shampoo
Step 1. Let the dough dry completely before putting it away
After getting out of the shower, place the solid shampoo on a clean towel for 5-20 minutes so that it dries well. If you store it while it's still wet or damp, it will disintegrate over time.
- Avoid leaving solid shampoo in the shower.
- You can also put it on a saucer or another cosmetic bottle.
Step 2. Put the solid shampoo in a reusable tin can in case you are looking for a long-term storage method
Buy a reusable tin can that is the same size as the lump. Then, slip the dry solid shampoo into it to keep it protected and clean.
- Solid shampoo is convenient for taking a car trip, plane vacation or a long train ride.
- To prevent it from sticking to the bottom, cut a piece of wax paper the same size as the jar and place it on the bottom of the container. Then, lay the solid shampoo on top.
Step 3. Put the solid shampoo in a plastic bag to protect it from water
To store solid shampoo without using a tin can, place it in a clean plastic bag when dry. Then, wrap a rubber band around the top of the bag several times, so that no air remains inside. Instead of the bag and rubber band, you can also use an airtight bag, such as those for the freezer.
Keeping solid shampoo in a plastic bag protects it from moisture, so it stays cool between uses
Step 4. Use solid shampoo until finished
On average, solid shampoo lasts around 80 washes, depending on how often it is used and your hair type. Since it's entirely natural, you don't have to worry about it going bad. Just use it until it disappears!
Advice
- The hair may feel slightly greasy to the touch following the first uses of the solid shampoo. This is absolutely normal. This product contains all-natural ingredients, so the hair needs time to adjust if it is used to chemical shampoos. Once dry, the hair will be beautiful and soft!
- After using solid shampoo for some time, you may find that your hair doesn't need to be washed as often. It happens to many people to be able to keep them clean for 2-4 days without washing them.
- Solid shampoo can also be used for body wash, laundry, or hand soap, but it won't last you long if you use it for all of these things.
