Are you unable to achieve appreciable results in caring for your straight hair, while it seems that for others it is a child's play? If you have straight hair, but don't know how to best take care of it, you are in the right place: keep reading.
Steps
Step 1. To avoid knots, brush your hair before getting it wet
When wet they will knot more.
Step 2. Rinse them thoroughly, thoroughly
Step 3. Pour some shampoo into your palms and scrub them together to create a nice lather
Now wash your hair, rubbing the scalp well with your fingertips, being careful not to tangle the ends too much (for example, you can collect the hair on the top of your head while doing this). Shampooing shouldn't be done every day, once a week if you can, or every other day. If you have oily hair, don't rub your scalp too much so as not to produce too much sebum.
Step 4. Use conditioner
A good conditioner will keep your hair healthy and help you avoid knots after shampooing. If you blow dry them you will need to use a moisturizing conditioner. However, if you have oily hair, you need to use a small amount of regular conditioner to prevent it from weighing down.
Step 5. When in the shower, comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb before rinsing off the conditioner
Step 6. Rinse the conditioner, removing any residue, being very careful not to tangle the ends
Step 7. Blot your hair with a towel, and comb it once more
Step 8. Go to the hairdresser every 4-6 weeks to cut your hair and remove split ends
Straight hair is probably the most prone to split ends, and you need to take great care of it (see the Tips section).
Advice
- Protect your hair from the sun by wearing a hat or using products that have sunscreen.
- Use the hair dryer no more than twice a week. Hot air and straightening damage the hair a lot. Always use the lowest heat setting.
- Try to use a swimming cap when swimming to prevent chlorine from damaging your hair.
- Avoid alterations with chemicals as much as possible.
- Look for rubber bands that don't damage your hair, without metal elements. Make yourself a braid to avoid knots.
- Add a few drops of honey to the conditioner to make it super moisturizing.
- Try not to brush yourself. This can cause split ends and damage your hair.
Warnings
- Never brush them when wet, you will damage them; comb them with a wide-toothed comb when they are slightly damp.
- When shampooing, never rub your hair in a circular motion. Unless you want to make dreadlocks, this is the best way to make knots.
- Do not wring your hair with a towel. Only brush them when the conditioner has untangled them to avoid knots. You can do this in the shower, before rinsing off the conditioner, or just after, when you have applied a mousse or leave-in conditioner.
