Continue reading the article and learn how to prepare both!
Ingrediants
Simple Mask
- 1 egg white
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- ½ tablespoon of honey
Nourishing Mask
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 banana, mashed
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil or coconut oil
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Prepare a Simple Mask
Step 1. Separate the egg
Break it over a bowl and transfer the yolk from one side of the shell to the other. Each time you transfer the yolk, a small amount of egg white will fall into the bowl below. Continue until all the egg white falls into the bowl. Egg white nourishes and tightens the skin, also helping to tighten the pores. Discard the egg yolk or save it for cooking.
Alternatively, use egg yolk to make a nourishing face mask. It will be sufficient to follow the indications of the second part of the article
Step 2. Add lemon juice to egg white
You need 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Lemon juice acts as a natural astringent and promotes the elimination of bacteria that cause acne and blackheads. It also tends to lighten any dark spots on the skin.
Step 3. Blend the egg white and lemon juice
Use a fork and whisk the two ingredients quickly until they form a light and fluffy mixture.
Step 4. Add honey to the lemon juice and egg white mixture and mix again
The required dose is 1/2 tablespoon of honey. The mixture should have a rather liquid consistency and a translucent color. Honey has antibacterial properties and is a natural antiseptic. It is also an excellent moisturizer and nourisher for the skin.
Step 5. Prepare your face for the mask by washing it with warm water
The heat will favor the dilation of the pores, increasing the effectiveness of the treatment. The mask will have a rather sticky texture, so pull your hair away from your face, for example in a braid, ponytail or bun, to avoid getting it dirty.
Wrap your chest and shoulders in a towel to protect your clothes
Step 6. Apply the mask to your face
You can use your fingers, a cotton pad or a cloth. Avoid the area around the nose, eyes and mouth.
Step 7. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes
Being rather liquid, the mask will tend to run; to avoid soiling your surroundings, you can decide to lie down or sit down and keep your head tilted back.
Alternatively, apply the mask during a relaxing bath
Step 8. Rinse the mask and dry the face skin
Remove the mask by spraying your face with warm water. Remove it gently, being careful not to rub the skin aggressively. Pat your face dry with a soft, clean towel.
Step 9. If desired, complete the beauty treatment by applying a moisturizer
Lemon juice may have a mild dehydrating effect on the skin. If necessary, apply a moisturizer.
Part 2 of 2: Prepare a nourishing mask
Step 1. Separate the egg and keep the yolk
Break the egg over a bowl and transfer the yolk from one side of the shell to the other. Each time you transfer the yolk, a small amount of egg white will fall into the bowl below. Continue until all the egg white falls into the bowl. Save the yolk and discard the egg white, or save it for your cooking recipes. The egg yolk moisturizes and nourishes the skin, and also helps to reduce any blemishes and imperfections.
Alternatively, use egg white to make a simple face mask. It will be sufficient to follow the indications of the first part of the article
Step 2. Add a mashed banana to the yolk
Peel a banana and cut it into small pieces with a knife. Mash it with a fork to turn it into a puree. Banana will help nourish the skin on the face.
Step 3. Add olive or coconut oil
You need 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Olive oil is a moisturizing ingredient and will make your skin soft and smooth to the touch. If you don't have olive oil available, you can replace it with another highly moisturizing ingredient: coconut oil.
Step 4. Prepare for the mask by washing the skin on your face and gathering the hair on the back of your head
If necessary, remove your make-up using a special cleanser. As the mask will have a rather sticky texture, gather your hair away from your face, for example in a braid, ponytail or bun, to avoid getting it dirty. Also, wrap your chest and shoulders in a towel to protect your clothes.
Step 5. Apply the mask to your face
You can use your fingers, a cotton pad or a cloth. Avoid the area around the nose, eyes and mouth.
Step 6. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes
Being rather liquid, the mask will tend to run; to avoid soiling your surroundings, you can decide to lie down or sit down and keep your head tilted back. Alternatively, you can apply the mask during a relaxing bath.
Step 7. Rinse the mask and dry the face skin
Remove the mask by spraying your face with warm water. Gently remove the mask, being careful not to rub the skin aggressively. Pat your face dry with a soft, clean towel.
Advice
- Both masks should be applied in the evening, not in the morning, and no more than once a week.
- You can also apply the mask on the back of the thighs to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
- While performing the treatment, gather your hair and keep it away from your face.
- Start by applying the mask twice a week and, after about three weeks, reduce the frequency to just one application per week.
- Try applying egg white to your face and then covering it with a tissue and a second layer of egg white. Let the treatment dry and then remove the tissue; the result will be an effective natural peeling.
- For convenience, apply the mask when you are in the bath.
Warnings
- If you are allergic to eggs, this mask is not for you. So try to prepare one with tomato sauce.
- Raw eggs can carry the salmonella bacterium. Apply the mask well away from your eyes, nose and mouth, and wash your hands, face and work surfaces carefully after use.
