Facial masks and packs are an easy, inexpensive way to tone your skin and pamper yourself. Here are some tips that will help you get the most out of your mask.
Steps
Step 1. If you use a homemade mask, try to make a new one every time
Step 2. If you are using a ready-made product, keep the appropriate applicator, or a simple broad-based brush, along with a wipe and make-up remover pads at hand
Step 3. Cut two very thin slices of cucumber or potato, which you will need to relax your eyes
Step 4. Keep all these things in the fridge so that they are fresh at the time of application
Step 5. Meanwhile, cleanse your face thoroughly
Step 6. Use a scrub if needed:
removes dead cells and allows better absorption of the mask.
Step 7. Take a steam bath for a couple of minutes to open the pores of the skin
Alternatively, dip a washcloth into boiling water (no hotter than your skin can handle), and hold the washcloth over your face until it cools.
Step 8. Apply the mask with the mask applicator or with the brush
If you have neither, you can use your hands, but make sure they are clean. If necessary, wash them first, and dry them thoroughly.
Step 9. After applying the mask, place the cucumber or potato slices over your eyes, and relax for as long as prescribed on the product insert, or until the mask dries
Turn off the light - it will help you relax.
Step 10. After the prescribed time, remove the mask with a wet wipe or make-up remover pad
If it's a clay-based mask, it's always best to take it off as soon as it starts to dry out. Try not to let it dry completely on your face.
Step 11. Finish with a toner and moisturizer
Advice
- Sprinkle cold (but not too much) water on your face after removing the mask - it helps close pores and invigorate circulation, and gives your complexion a rosy glow.
- Add essential oils to nourish the skin.
- Before the mask do a manicure, so, if you decide to apply the mask with your hands, you will be sure that your nails are perfectly clean.
