Instead of buying a replacement rotary axle for your lawnmower deck, you can try to repair it yourself by replacing only the damaged parts and thus incurring a lower cost.
Steps
Step 1. Remove the footboard from the tractor
In this way it will be easier to remove the rotary axis.
Step 2. Remove the blade and pulley from the damaged shaft
It is best to repair both axes even if only one appears to be malfunctioning.
Step 3. Remove the rotary axis from the platform
Be careful when unscrewing the bolts. Use unlocking oil and wait for it to penetrate. If the bolts break, don't panic. You can use the drill to remove the stump and to make other holes slightly offset from the original ones.
Step 4. Now you have to disassemble the rotary axis assembly to replace the damaged bearings
Bring the axis to the work table and tighten it in a vice or similar object.
Step 5. Put the pulley nut back and tighten it for a couple of turns around the axle shaft
Step 6. As shown in the image, deliver a decisive blow to the die
It will not take long, this operation should force the shaft to come out of the entire block of the rotary axis.
Step 7. At this point you should be able to remove the tree
You should have the rotary axis assembly (without shaft) with the upper and lower bearings visible.
Step 8. Use a screwdriver to pry the bearings out of their housing
Step 9. Make a note of the number printed on the side of the bearings and go to the parts store to buy new ones
Step 10. Clean all components thoroughly
Step 11. Press the new bearing into the lower housing
Step 12. If there is a sleeve to be inserted above the shaft inside the rotation axis assembly, remember to put it on before inserting the upper bearing
Step 13. Insert the upper bearing
Step 14. Refit the shaft in the rotation unit
Step 15. Using a tube or hollow tool, push or drum the sleeve around the shaft
It must come into contact with the inner ring of the upper bearing.
Step 16. Finished
Put the now repaired rotation axis back on the platform; the problem should no longer arise for the next 5 years.
