If you make your own clothes, or would like to start making them, you will need a bust to make sure they are the right size. You could buy one for a lot of money, or build it for less than € 10.
Steps
Step 1. Get yourself a helper, it makes things a lot easier
Step 2. Put on a tight bra, panties and old T-shirt, so you can have a shape that is as close to your body as possible
Step 3. Begin by laying the duct tape horizontally, starting from where you want the torso to start
A good idea is to start in the mid-thigh. Continue until you or your helper are just below the breast.
Step 4. Now cut the ribbon after completing a full layer
Now stretch the tape vertically, starting from the base to about two centimeters from the neck.
Step 5. Resume laying the tape horizontally, starting from where you stopped just below the breasts, and continuing up to the armpits
Step 6. Now stretch the tape from the back to over the shoulders to get to where you left off
The arms will be the last thing to cover.
Step 7. Be careful to leave at least an inch of space between the tape and the skin
Step 8. Create a V from the edge of the shoulder tape to the edge of the chest tape
Step 9. On the back, stretch the ribbon across the height of the shirt, always keeping in mind the inch space rule
Step 10. When you get to the point where there is only an inch of space between the skin and the tape, wrap the neck with cling film or another piece of fabric
Now you can continue to cover the neck with the ribbon.
Step 11. Now it's time to cover your arms
Step 12. Starting at the shoulder limit, wrap your arms vertically with duct tape, to the length you want
Step 13. At this point you need to connect the arms to the rest of the body, spreading the tape following the line of the armpits
Step 14. Repeat this two more times, first vertically and then horizontally, smoothing out the tape as you spread it out
Step 15. Mark the places you want to keep track of, such as the waist, hips, etc
Step 16. Ask your helper to cut your torso down your back, being careful not to cut you and your undergarments
Step 17. Once the torso has been detached, close it again using more tape, and reinforce it on both sides
Step 18. Also close the base with tape
Step 19. Fill the torso with a Styrofoam pad, pressing it down to shape the torso
Step 20. Also close the top and then create a support base (not with adhesive tape)
Advice
To build the base, you can use an old weight (the kind with a hole in the middle) or an old Christmas tree base along with a metal tube or broom handle. Make sure it's sturdy enough and lean your torso over it, making an entry and exit hole. Finally put a knob on the top
Warnings
- Don't use a shirt that you would mind ruining.
- Duct tape is very irritating to the skin. Remember to follow the two centimeter rule as you roll out the tape.
- The scissors are sharp, they could easily cut you.
