Drawing is a great hobby if you have a little patience. Some designs take days or even weeks to complete, while others can be done in a couple of hours. This article will teach you how to draw a manga (girl) face by following simple instructions.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Front View
Step 1. Draw a sketch of a circle for the head
Step 2. Next, draw a vertical line through the middle of the circle
Step 3. Draw the jaw line
Step 4. Draw 3 lines that will be used to make the eyes
Step 5. Sketch 2 curved lines for the ears
Step 6. Draw the mandible
Step 7. Draw the ears with details
Step 8. Draw the eyes, nose and mouth
Remember that the nose must not be aligned with the eyes, and there must be enough space between the mouth and the nose.
Step 9. Erase the draft lines
Step 10. This is what the drawing will look like when colored
Method 2 of 2: Simple Woman's Face
Step 1. Start by making a circle for the head
You can use a compass if you want to make it perfect. With practice, you will be able to improve and draw a perfect circle without having to use the compass or other tools. (Don't press the pencil too hard when drawing, as this is only a guideline and you will have to erase it at the end.)
Step 2. Now draw a vertical line dividing the circle in half, a little longer than the diameter of the circle, and a horizontal line perpendicular to this
(Draw the second line a little lower than the diameter of the circle.)
Step 3. Draw the chin with the help of these two lines
The two points where the circle and the horizontal line touch mark the beginning of the mandible. The tip of the vertical line will be that of the chin.
Step 4. Draw another horizontal line, a little higher than the first
This line must be parallel. The eyes will lie between the two lines.
Step 5. Drawing the eyes is the hardest part of all
Start with two lines on the horizontal base at the top, shaped like an arc. The lower lines of the eye should be straighter than the high ones, but not too short. Add some lashes, both on the top line and on the bottom line.
Step 6. For the eyes, draw two ovals between the two lines
The lower tip of the oval should lightly touch the lower eyelid, while the upper part of the oval should appear to be half covered by the upper eyelid. (Take a good look at the picture!) In any case, if you want to give your face a surprised look, neither the top nor the bottom of the oval will have to touch the eyelids. Add small circles between the eyes - they will make them sparkle. Then add the pupils. The pupils need to be large, but if you want to make your face look scared, make them smaller.
Step 7. Draw a small line at the point where the first vertical line cuts the circle
It's the nose.
Step 8. Before adding the mouth, you will need to clear the guidelines
The mouth will be positioned on the vertical line, just below the nose. But before erasing, mark where it will be, so that you can draw it more easily. Don't worry if you've crossed out the guidelines before you mark the spot - it's easy to figure out where it needs to be.
Step 9. Draw the mouth
Start with a short line, in the shape of an arc. Then draw the same line, but this time turned the other way, so it looks like a pout. Add another small line under the mouth. It will be the lower lip.
Step 10. Add the eyebrows
Brows can be straight (if you want the face to look scared or innocent) or arc-shaped (if you want it to look serious or neutral).
Advice
- If you don't like the result of the drawing, don't get too angry! You will get better with more practice.
- Unleash your creativity and show your personal style. After all, it's your drawing!
- As with any other art, you need to be calm while drawing, and have fun.
- Practice will improve your skills!
- Add some hue to the iris to make the look more realistic.
- Add some hue to the lips so that it looks like there is lipstick in there.
- Draw the eyelids to make it look like the girl has squinted.
- You can make her look prettier by adding some freckles.
- You can also draw two small dots for the nose.
- Drawing involves natural talent. You may not be very good at drawing - in this case, look for something else that you have a natural gift for, there will be for sure!
