While many paints these days are environmentally friendly and safer than ever, the smell can be toxic and unpleasant and even cause headaches. Fortunately, you can eliminate it in your home or office by using some household products.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Using Buckets of Water

Step 1. Fill a 3-11 liter bucket with tap water

Step 2. Place it in the center of the newly whitewashed room
The water will absorb the residual fumes of the solvents used during the painting work.
For larger spaces and environments, use two or more buckets of water as needed

Step 3. Let the bucket of water sit overnight or until the smell of the paint is gone

Step 4. Discard the water when done
Of course, you will not be able to drink or use it after it has absorbed the fumes from the paint.
Method 2 of 4: Use an Onion

Step 1. Peel the outer layer of a medium or large sized white or yellow onion
The quality of these onions absorb odors better.

Step 2. Use a knife to cut the onion in half

Step 3. Place each half on a shallow plate or bowl, with the cut side facing up
For larger spaces and environments, use two or more onions as needed

Step 4. Place each vessel on opposite sides of the newly painted room
The onion will naturally absorb the smell of the paint.

Step 5. Leave it on overnight, or until the smell of the paint is gone

Step 6. Throw away the onion when done
You certainly won't be able to reuse it in the kitchen or eat it after it has absorbed the fumes from the paint.
Method 3 of 4: Use Salt, Lemon and Vinegar

Step 1. Fill at least three bowls halfway with tap water

Step 2. Add a lemon wedge and 70g of salt to each bowl
You can replace lemon and salt with white vinegar if you miss them. In this case, use one part vinegar for each part of the water

Step 3. Arrange all the bowls around the newly painted room
Water, lemon, salt and vinegar have the ability to naturally absorb the smell of paint.

Step 4. Let the ingredients sit overnight, or until the smell of the paint is gone

Step 5. Throw away the lemons, water and other contents when you are done
Of course, you will no longer be able to consume these ingredients after they have absorbed the fumes from the paint.
Method 4 of 4: Use Charcoal or Ground Coffee

Step 1. Put on a pair of work gloves and use your hands to crush and crush the coal into smaller pieces
Alternatively, use a grinder to pulverize the coffee beans.

Step 2. Place charcoal chunks or ground coffee in two or more bowls as needed

Step 3. Arrange the bowls around the newly painted room

Step 4. Leave them overnight or until the smell of the paint is gone

Step 5. Discard the charcoal or ground coffee when done
You will no longer be able to use them once they have absorbed the fumes from the paint.
