This article can be useful for anyone who needs to wake up early to catch a bus to school. Having to get up early isn't all that bad if you follow these simple steps.
Steps
Step 1. Set your alarm 10 minutes before you get up
These 10 minutes guarantee you a little more time if you happen to be quite slow that day. They also give you time to relax and not rush things when you get ready. Haste creates stress.
Step 2. Turn on all the lights
This ensures that you wake up quickly and don't go back to sleep. In the dark, you are more and more tempted to stay and bask in the sheets.
Step 3. Wash your face with cold water as soon as you get out of bed
This refreshes your face and is another way to not fall asleep again. Not to mention that it is also a way to maintain good hygiene.
Step 4. Put your headphones on and listen to your favorite music while you get dressed
This will brighten your mood and you may even forget it's 5am.
Step 5. Have breakfast
Make sure you have a bite to eat or take a snack on the bus. You tend to be irritable on an empty stomach.
Advice
- Try to already have an idea of what you will want to wear the following day, so you won't waste time finding a dress in the morning (and you can set aside this time to sleep).
- As soon as you get up, stretch and then grab your phone, iPod, iPad, anything that can play music. Listen to some upbeat music that isn't too calm, because if it's relaxing it will make you want to sleep even more! Put on fun and lively songs that you like!
- As soon as you wake up, make an effort to get up and go to the bathroom to wash your face with cold water. This will prevent you from being tempted to go back to sleep.
- Prepare your lunch already the day before, so you don't have to waste too much time in the morning making yourself a sandwich and you won't run the risk of not doing it at all because you are too tired or in a hurry.
- Do some stretching and move around the house a bit. Grab your phone, radio or any other device and put on some music right away. Make sure it's not too relaxing, put one that makes you want to dance or sing, so you'll keep yourself more awake.

Warnings
- Always find a backup plan to wake up. For example, for the first few days, make sure one of your parents is willing to call you in case you can't wake up.
- Don't fall asleep again after pressing the alarm button and don't tell yourself you still have five more minutes.
- Make sure you have enough time to complete all of these steps.
- These steps may not work for you, but they're worth a try.
