If you find your tea bland and boring, you need to buy a better one or extend the brewing time to enhance the taste. There is nothing worse than a tea that tastes only of hot water. After all, it is the infusion of exotic herbs and flavors that we value so much.
Steps
Step 1. Buy good quality tea
Leaf tea, rather than a sachet, creates a better infusion, as water flows more easily around the tea when it is not in a sachet. Here is a list of different classifications of tea, and its qualities. Orange Pekoe: medium grading, broken leaves. The leaves are broken into rather large pieces, it grows in Sri Lanka and South India. Flowery Orange Pekoe: Similar to Orange Pekoe, but grown in other regions. Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe: high quality tea obtained from the apical buds of young leaves. Fine Quality Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe: Orange Pekoe teas are of the finest quality.
Step 2. Heat a liter of pure water, bring it to a boil in a quality pot or kettle
It is preferable to use water that is free of chlorine or other chemicals, and low in minerals, so as not to alter the taste of the tea.
Step 3. Place the tea leaves in a suitable container, eco-friendly glass (lead-free) or ceramic is a good choice, and pour boiling water over them
The quantity of viaria leaves according to the desired intensity of taste, as a starting point consider about 4 tablespoons of tea per liter of water.
Step 4. Add your favorite sweetener
(Honey and raw cane sugar are excellent).
Step 5. Allow the infusion
The recommended time is 4 - 7 minutes for black tea and 3-5 minutes for green tea.
Step 6. Filter the leaves if desired, otherwise leave them at the bottom of the brew container and pour the drink carefully into the cups
Enjoy your tea!
Advice
- If desired, squeeze the leaves or tea bag to make the infusion bitter due to the tannins released.
- Mixing and matching different teas can be fun. Vanilla teas are compatible with most flavors. You can also play with the taste of cinnamon stick and different varieties of mint (for example Mentha suaveolens). Or simply replace your classic tea with a flavored one.
- Although using tea bags is simpler and more tidy, you should know that they normally contain the broken leaves of the cheaper varieties, from which many of the essential oils that make tea taste have evaporated.
- Since the strength of the tea is variable, it is advisable to take note of the variety and quantity used to adjust them to your taste.
