A rib is characterized by a T-shaped bone in the cut of the meat. This is a cross-section of meat from the sirloin and tenderloin starting from the vertebrae of the bovine. How to cook a steak depends on how you want to make it. By following a few basic steps, you can cook yourself a great T-bone steak whenever you want.
Steps
Step 1. Choose a cherry red and marbled rib eye steak, with the fat running all over the meat
It should be firm and about 3cm thick.
Step 2. Remove the ribs from the fridge 30-60 minutes before cooking so that they reach room temperature
Cooking cold steaks makes the meat tough due to the contraction of the muscle due to the contrast of the cold meat with the heat.
Step 3. Make sure the steaks are dry
Pass a paper towel over it. The steak needs to be dry so it doesn't steam.
Step 4. Season the ribs well on both sides
If you want to savor the taste of meat, don't overdo the seasoning, as this can mask its natural flavor.
Step 5. To grill ribs, preheat the grill using non-stick cooking spray
Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes. Flip the steaks once, cook for another 3-4 minutes or until they are grilled as you like.
Step 6. For pan-seared ribs, use a cast iron frying pan or something equally heavy
Heat the skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Sear the steaks for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side using tongs to move them slightly so they don't stick together. Continue cooking until you like it. Pan searing gives the steaks a nice crust
Step 7. To grill ribs, preheat the grill for 5-10 minutes before adding the steaks
Once the top has browned for about 5 minutes, flip the steaks with the tongs. Cook for another 5 minutes or until you like.
Step 8. To roast the ribs, preheat the oven to 260 degrees C with a heavy baking pan inside
Remove the pan with oven mitts and place it on top of the oven over high heat. Place the steaks in the pan and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Remove the pan with oven mitts and place it on top of the oven over high heat. Cook for another 3-5 minutes until the steaks are how you like them. The ribs should have a nice crust on the outside
Step 9. Use a meat thermometer to check when the steaks are ready
Cooking rare needs 48, 89 degrees C, medium rare needs 51, 67 degrees C, and average 54, 44 degrees C
Step 10. Let the steaks rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting or eating them
This way the juices are redistributed throughout the meat, so you have a nice tender and juicy steak. Resting steaks is one of the most important steps in cooking ribs.

Advice
- Dry heat is the preferred way to cook tender cuts of meat, such as ribs.
- First choice beef is the best cut of meat.
Warnings
- Do not salt the ribs just before cooking; this attracts the water to the surface which tends to boil the meat.
- The thinner the piece of meat, the faster it will dry out during the cooking process.
