This article explains how to connect an Android device to a Windows computer using a Bluetooth connection.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Windows 10
Step 1. Launch the Settings app on your Android device
It has a gray gear icon. Normally you can find it in the "Applications" panel.
Step 2. Scroll down the appeared menu and choose the Bluetooth option
It is normally listed in the "Wireless & Networks" section of the "Settings" menu.
Step 3. Activate the Bluetooth slider by moving it to the right so that "Active" appears
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Set up your computer
Now you need to activate the Bluetooth connection on your Windows computer as well.
Step 5. Access the "Start" menu
You can do this by clicking on the icon depicting the Windows logo located in the lower left corner of the desktop or by pressing the ⊞ Win key on the keyboard.
Step 6. Click on the ⚙️ icon
It is located in the lower left corner of the "Start" menu.
Step 7. Click the Devices icon
It is displayed in the center of the appeared window.
Step 8. Click on the Bluetooth and other devices tab
It is listed in the left pane of the "Settings" window.
Step 9. Click on the "Bluetooth" slider displayed at the top of the "Bluetooth and other devices" box
This will activate the computer's Bluetooth connection.
Step 10. Click the Add Bluetooth or other device button
It is placed at the top of the window.
Step 11. Click on the Bluetooth option
It is visible at the top of the pop-up window that appeared. The list of all Bluetooth devices detected by the PC will be displayed.
Step 12. Click on the name of the Android smartphone
This way your computer and mobile device can start communicating to establish a connection.
Step 13. Wait for a PIN code to appear on the screen
You will see a 6-digit numeric code appear on the screen of your computer and Android device which is intended to verify the correctness of the connection.
Before continuing, make sure that the PIN code displayed on the smartphone screen is the same as the one displayed on the computer
Step 14. Click the Yes button displayed on your computer screen
It is located inside the pop-up window showing the verification PIN code.
Step 15. Press the Connect button or OK displayed on the Android device screen.
You will have to be quick, otherwise the connection procedure of the computer with the device will be interrupted. If you press the indicated button in time, the PC will connect to the Android device.
In some cases you will first have to select the check button to confirm your willingness to connect the Android device to the PC via Bluetooth connection
Method 2 of 3: Windows 8
Step 1. Launch the Settings app on your Android device
It has a gray gear icon. Normally you can find it in the "Applications" panel.
Step 2. Scroll down the appeared menu and choose the Bluetooth option
It is normally listed in the "Wireless & Networks" section of the "Settings" menu.
Step 3. Activate the Bluetooth slider by moving it to the right so that "Active" appears
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Set up your computer
Now you need to activate the Bluetooth connection on your Windows computer as well.
Step 5. Access the "Start" menu
You can do this by clicking on the icon depicting the Windows logo located in the lower left corner of the screen or by pressing the ⊞ Win key on the keyboard.
Step 6. Type pc settings keywords into the search bar
The latter is located at the top of the "Start" screen.
Step 7. Click on the PC Settings item
It should be the first option displayed in the search results list.
Step 8. Click on the PC and Devices tab
It is listed along the left side of the page that appeared.
Step 9. Click on the Bluetooth option
It is visible on the left side of the page.
Step 10. Click on the "Bluetooth" slider
This will activate the PC's Bluetooth connectivity.
Step 11. Click on the name of the Android smartphone
It should have appeared in the list of detected devices displayed under the "Bluetooth" slider.
Step 12. Click the Associate button
It is located in the lower right corner of the box where the name of the Android device is displayed. In this way the PC and the device will start the connection procedure.
Step 13. Wait for a PIN code to appear on the screen
You will see a 6-digit numeric code appear on the screen of your computer and Android device which is intended to verify the correctness of the connection.

Method 3 of 3: Windows 7

Step 6. Click on the Devices and Printers option
It should be visible on the right side of the "Start" menu, exactly below the entry Control Panel.
If the option indicated is not visible, type the keywords devices and printers in the search bar located at the bottom of the "Start" menu, then click on the icon Devices and printers when it appears in the results list.
Step 7. Click on the Add a device item
It is located in the upper left of the "Devices and Printers" dialog box.
Step 8. Click on the name of the Android device
It should appear in the center of the window.
If it is not listed, it means that Windows 7 was unable to detect it because perhaps the computer does not support Bluetooth connectivity. In this case you will need to purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter to connect to the PC
Step 9. Click the Next button
It is located in the lower right corner of the window.

- You can also connect the computer to your Android smartphone in the following way: activate Bluetooth connectivity on both the PC and the device, then select the computer name (for example "DESKTOP-PC") from the list of devices detected by the smartphone visible under the Bluetooth connection activation slider.
