Almost everyone plays League of Legends in full screen, as this optimizes performance. However, "windowed" mode may be preferable in some circumstances. Using it, it is easier to access other windows and applications during a game, not to mention that this can also improve performance slightly, as switching between game and desktop can sometimes negatively affect CPU usage. Switching to "in window" mode requires a fairly simple and straightforward procedure.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Changing the Mode during a Game
Step 1. Start the game
Press the "Esc" key to open the "Options" window.
Step 2. Click on the "Video" tab
Select "Windowed Mode" instead of "Full Screen" or "No Borders".
Step 3. Resume the game
While playing, you can switch between full screen and windowed mode using the "Alt + Enter" keyboard shortcut.
Method 2 of 2: Edit the Configuration File
Step 1. Open the League of Legends folder on your computer
The default location is "C: / Riot Games / League of Legends".
Step 2. Open the "Config" folder
Then, open the "game.cfg" file using Notepad.
Step 3. Find the point where "Windowed = 0" appears
Replace "0" with "1". Save the file.
Step 4. Start the game
It should open in windowed mode. Change the screen resolution to make the window smaller.
