This article shows you how to delete temporary system files from a Windows computer using the "Disk Cleanup" program.
Steps
Step 1. Press the hotkey combination ⊞ Win + E
The "File Explorer" system window will appear.
Normally, the ⊞ Win key is placed at the bottom left of the keyboard next to the space bar
Step 2. Right-click the memory drive marked with the Windows logo
The latter is made up of four small blue squares that make up the face of a cube. The relevant context menu will be displayed.
In most cases, the computer's main memory drive icon is located within the "Devices and Drives" section of the center panel of the "File Explorer" window. If you can't find it, swipe the left sidebar all the way to the bottom
Step 3. Choose the Properties option
A new dialog box relating to the properties of the selected hard drive will appear.
Step 4. Press the Disk Cleanup button
Step 5. At this point, select the "Temporary files" checkbox
It is located at the bottom of the "Files to delete" pane.
Within the same list there is also the item "Temporary internet files". This option is used to delete temporary internet files from the system disk. Remember to select "Temporary files" and not "Temporary internet files"
Step 6. Press the OK button
It is located in the lower right part of the window. A confirmation message will be displayed.
Step 7. Press the File Deletion button to confirm your action
Windows will delete all unnecessary temporary files from your computer.
