This wikiHow teaches you how to change the settings of a folder you've shared on Google Drive to make it private and stop sharing it with other users using a browser.
Steps
Step 1. Visit Google Drive using a browser
Type drive.google.com in the address bar and press Enter on your keyboard.
If you do not log in automatically, log in by entering your email address or phone number and your username
Step 2. Click on the folder you want to stop sharing with the right mouse button
Look for the folder in question in the "Folders" section and click on its name with the right mouse button. A drop-down menu will open next to it.
Step 3. In the menu, click on Share with the right mouse button
This option is represented by a gray human silhouette and opens a window where you can change the settings associated with sharing the folder.
Step 4. Click on Advanced
This link is located at the bottom right of the pop-up and opens the advanced sharing settings in the same window.
Step 5. Click Change in the section titled "Who has access"
This blue link is on the right and allows you to restrict access to the folder.
Step 6. Select Inactive
When this option is selected, users with whom you have shared the folder will not be able to use the link to share it with other people.
The people you shared the link with previously will still have access to the folder for now
Step 7. Click Save
It is a blue button located at the bottom left of the pop-up. Allows you to save the sharing settings and return to the previous window.
Step 8. Click the X button next to each user's name located in the "Who has access" section
This will remove users from the list and stop sharing the folder with them.
If you are the only person on the list, in the "Who has access" section you will find "Private". This means that no one can access or share this folder, except you
Step 9. Click Save Changes
This blue button is located at the bottom left of the pop-up window and allows you to save the new folder sharing settings.
Step 10. Click the blue Done button at the bottom left to close the pop-up and return to Drive
From now on, you will be the only person who can access this folder.
