Advice
- The update for Android phones that includes this feature was released on August 16, 2012 - update your app accordingly.
- If the image is a little washed out, move to a brighter area or provide more light and re-scan any side that has been marked with an X (inside a square) from the application.
- The withdrawal from the payer's account will take place on the following business day, but the credit will remain pending during that period. Therefore, the deposit will not be immediately available.
- As with most Bank of America services, a receipt is not required when depositing checks via this app. However, if you wish to take note that the deposit was made on that date, write it down along with the confirmation number just like you would if you were in the bank.
- While most other banks only offer this feature for their business accounts, Bank of America offers it for any type of account.
- Destroy the check properly (making sure your account number is completely illegible) to protect your financial data from prying eyes.
- Keep in mind that the account number and check number can be in two different places, and both must be illegible to ensure the privacy of the depositor.
- Keep the check in a safe place for 14 days. If the check is not accepted or another problem occurs, you will need to return the check to your bank.
