With the ASCII code, you can use numbers, letters and all the symbols on the keyboard to create images.
Steps
Step 1. Find a text editor to create your ASCII art (example:
Block notes).
Step 2. Choose a fixed size font
On Notepad, you can only use this type of font. This means that you can use spaces; in fonts with no fixed size, the spaces will be smaller and this can create problems with the formatting of the text.
Step 3. Think of an object to draw
Start with something simple, like a flower.
Step 4. Use fonts that take up more space for the darker parts of the image
Step 5. Use fonts that take up less space for the lighter parts of the image
Step 6. Use slash and slanted lines to draw lines
You will be forced to use only wide corners.
Step 7. Save the image and show it to friends and family, or post it on a website
Advice
- Experiment to find a design you like.
- Start gradually, then move on to more challenging projects when you've gained some experience. Hardly anyone manages to create an elegant masterpiece on the first, second or even twentieth try.
- Search the internet for programs that can help you create images.
- You won't be able to draw perfect circles, but you can create shapes that look like circles by drawing larger and larger horizontal lines, and then reducing their size.
Warnings
- Since you won't be able to draw anything smaller than a font, the font size will determine the size of your artwork. For this, you will not be able to make small figures with ASCII.
- Don't be too hard on yourself. ASCII art is difficult to master and it will take time to do it.
