How disgusting! You have lice in your hair, but you don't want to tell your parents! Not only is this a complicated situation, but it could end with many different endings. However, this article will tell you the steps to get rid of head lice without having to tell your parents!
Steps
Step 1. Ask your parents if you can buy yourself a new comb
You must have a plausible excuse ready in case they ask you why (eg "My comb is old" or "I need a new comb"). To get them to give you permission, tell them that you will pay for it with your own money. Once they agree and take you to a store, choose a comb made to remove lice eggs. But be careful that your parents are in another corridor. To be sure that the comb is of good quality, check that the price is more than 8 euros.
- If you can't find a lice comb, ask the clerk privately where they are. But be careful that your parents aren't listening.
- If you buy lice-killing shampoo and conditioner, your parents will likely ask you why, and that can lead to a quick end.
Step 2. Use orange juice
The reason you need orange juice is that the acid kills lice. Pour yourself a large glass of orange juice and go to the bathroom, but take the juice on the sly so your parents don't suspect anything. Go to the shower. It helps if you also add oil derived from the tea plant.
If you don't have orange juice at home, go to the supermarket alone or ask your parents to accompany you
Step 3. Wet your hair with water, then pour orange juice over it and let it sit for 20 minutes
While it may seem like a long time, you'll be sure it worked well, and you don't have to wonder if it really worked or not. Let the acid kill the lice. When the 20 minutes have passed, rinse off the juice and continue showering.
Step 4. Once you have washed your hair with orange juice, you need to use the lice comb you bought
Make sure you have privacy; lock your bedroom door. Stay away from your parents or siblings. Comb off all lice and eggs, it should take about an hour.
To make sure you will never be interrupted, tell your parents and siblings that you want to have an hour of privacy. Ask them not to knock on the door and not to disturb you during that time. Be kind and polite though when you ask them, or they may get angry and disagree with you
Step 5. Once you've finished combing your hair, wash your bed sheets, clothes, towel, and anything else you've touched
Head lice can be caught easily; therefore they are also easily passed.
Step 6. Repeat all of the above steps everyday for about two weeks
Don't miss a day because the lice eggs hatch quickly and you are back to head again!
Advice
- Blow-dry your hair after a shower. Help kill lice on your head. You may need to do this more than once for it to be effective.
- Lice hate herbs: lavender, mint, rosemary, etc. Try putting herbs on your pillow!
- Lice love clean hair; the dirtier they are, the worse it is for them. Put some petroleum jelly on your hair to simulate a dirty environment.
Warnings
- Some lice shampoos and conditioners are flammable. So don't blow dry your hair after you've used it.
- If you feel itchy "below" you may have pubic lice. If you think so, tell your parents immediately! It can be dangerous for your health!
- It is not recommended to keep a secret from your parents. Head lice can be easily attached to other people, such as your family members, and they will get very angry when they realize it was your fault. The sooner you get help, the better.
