Mental preparation is one of the most important things in sports. Some players have great skills but if they are not mentally ready to face a match, they will not be productive for the entire duration of the match. Visualization is one of the best ways to mentally prepare.
Steps
Step 1. Get started early
Start preparing for the game the night before.
Step 2. View the game and review it continuously overhead
Visualize your success with your actions during the game. Imagine super serves, baskets, shots or other based on the sport practiced. Visualize your dribbles, overtaking or home runs.
Step 3. Stay relaxed and don't bother anyone
Step 4. Always stay calm and focused
Step 5. Talk to encouraging, positive people and not negative people
Step 6. Don't focus too much on the game because otherwise your mistakes could demoralize you
Step 7. Think about success, not defeat
Think about the good times in your career and things to do. Focus on the good things and leave out the bad ones. Mind and body must be one. The mind suggests to the body how to react.
Step 8. Relax and enjoy
If you are very stressed it will be difficult to get the best of you. Also, it's not productive to think, "I have to destroy the other team." Remember your workouts and visualize the success of your feats. However, don't be too relaxed and confident that your performance is compromised.
Advice

- Make sure you stretch before entering the court.
- Use techniques that are helpful in stressful situations.
- Use a pre-game routine.
- Make sure you get a good night's rest before the game. Otherwise you will be too tired to play. Don't wake up too early.
- Determine what gives you motivation and focus.
- In the locker room, spend 30–40 minutes mentally preparing for the game. Do not speak, remain silent in a quiet room. So you will face the game with the right attitude.
Warnings
- When you wake up in the morning do not do anything that will affect your performance.
- Don't do anything you don't usually do, like running or sprinting. It might just make you more tired. Save all your energy for the game.
