A foulard is a form of cloth neck accessory that men often wear. It was very fashionable in England and France in the 1800s and can be tied in several ways. Men's scarves can still be worn today to give a formal touch to a wedding or other occasion. Here's how to make one.
Steps

Step 1. Choose the right fabric
Silk is very popular for men's ones. You can also use flax.

Step 2. Measure and create the scarf

Step 3. Measure a piece of fabric between 25 and 37.5 cm wide and at least 127 cm long

Step 4. Use scissors to cut the fabric as straight and smooth as possible

Step 5. Create a narrow hem, perhaps 0.3 cm, along the edge of the fabric you cut

Step 6. Use fabric glue to hold it in place or sew it
Part 1 of 2: From Bent Triangles

Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric that is 127 x 127 cm
Fold the square in half along the diagonal to form 2 triangles.

Step 2. Iron the crease to flatten it or mark it with a pencil
Cut along the crease.

Step 3. Create a tight, neat hem along the cut edges
Glue the hems with fabric glue or sew them so they stay smooth.
Part 2 of 2: Learning to Knot a Headscarf

Step 1. Wrap the scarf around your neck leaving the longer fabric on the right side

Step 2. Turn the long side to the left so that it passes over and under the short side of the woven fabric

Step 3. Wrap the long part around the short one again

Step 4. Pull the long end through the loop that has formed around the collar
You can choose to tie a scarf in the traditional way or tie a rolled knot.
-
To tie it in the traditional way, fold the long end over the knot. Adjust the short end to fit the length of the scarf. Use a tie clip to secure the long front part of the scarf.
Make a Cravat Step 13Bullet1 -
To make a rolled or ruched knot, pull the long end of the scarf down through the loop in the knot. Make sure the knot stays loose enough to have a crumpled look. Adjust the length of the scarf by moving the underside.

Advice
- Men's scarves can be worn with elegant shirts that have a normal collar or tuxedo.
- To help you measure and cut a scarf, try using a fabric that has a texture, perhaps checkered.
- The scarves are available in white or colored fabric and can be starched or not.
- The edge of the scarf fabric may already be smooth and does not need hemming.
