Steps
Step 1. Get a box of the size you want for your watermelon, as it is the box that will shape it
Step 2. Now get yourself a newborn cantaloupe
Handle both the leaves and the fruit with great care. You will need to transplant it.
Step 3. Put it in a box that can be opened on at least one of its sides
Most of the boxes are square, but you can use any of the shapes you want! Put some soil in it and plant the watermelon. Add some compost and mulch.
Step 4. Water the watermelon
Make sure it gets enough light. The watering process will likely damage the box, so be prepared to change it once the watermelon has grown a little. Get some spare, and go!
Step 5. Collect
When the shape is what you want and the fruit is ripe, it's time to harvest it. Take your square watermelon with you to some special occasion and everyone will be amazed!
Advice
- You can also use a large bottle or jar, but you'll need to break them when the watermelon is ripe.
- An alternative to the box is a concrete brick with holes in it. Think of various possible shapes, be creative. If the container is harder, the watermelon will take its shape without problems and the result will be better.
