Each of us has gone through times when we have felt down in the dumps. At times like this it is certainly difficult to maintain an optimistic outlook on life, but this guide can help you.
Steps
Step 1. Remember the good times you lived
Think back to all the good things that have happened to you and act as if it were happening again.
Step 2. Don't always wear black only
Step 3. If you don't like yourself, take more care of your appearance:
cut your hair or use light makeup. The dark trick does nothing more than send out messages like "Don't talk to me" or "I'm trying to look older than I am". Choose bright colors like blue, green, pink, lavender or even silver.
Step 4. If you start asking questions about the importance of life, remember that everyone has a bad time
Try saying to yourself, "Everyone gets married. Everyone has friends. I have friends too, and I'll get married too." Think about what you really want, maybe become a pilot, skydiver or singer. Working hard on what you want to achieve will give you excitement and help you believe that you can become anything you want.
Step 5. If you are a stay-at-home, invite friends over
If, on the other hand, you love going out and going to clubs and restaurants, then invite your friends out or plan something fun like an outdoor trip.
Step 6. Don't listen to depressing music:
it will only worsen your self-esteem and make you think about suicide! Try to listen to cheerful genres, perhaps metal or rock. Every now and then you can also listen to some slightly dated songs, those that are part of your memories, but NOT TOO OFTEN!
Step 7. If you have problems at home, confide in someone
It will make you feel better and ease your anguish, plus you may get some good advice. You could confide in a teacher, a relative, a close friend, or even a therapist.
