Using effective affirmations can lead you to bring out the best in yourself. Widely used as a positive soliloquy, this kind of affirmation can make your actions match your ideal goals. And, if written correctly, affirmations can help generate the energy needed to make your dreams come true.
Affirmations are not something to be hastily done and then discarded as if they are no longer needed. It is important to take the time to complete them and accept that nothing that has been written is final. You can continue to correct and revise them to match your needs and desires.
The two main steps in creating an effective affirmation involve deep reflection and the effort to write it down. This article tells you how to do it in the best way.
Steps
Step 1. Find a quiet environment where you can be on your own
When creating it, it is important to clear your mind and focus only on the part of your life that you want to change or improve.
Step 2. Decide what you particularly want
You can make affirmations or even a soliloquy to improve all areas of your life. This article focuses on four main categories:
Change habits (be specific) - For example, quitting smoking, avoiding putting things off, being too lenient, apologizing, complaining, forgetting names and so on
Step 3. Build an attitude - For example, self-esteem, to be responsible, think positively, have compassion and so on.
- Motivational - For example, finding energy, trust, confidence, desire, purpose and so on.
- Situational (generic) - For example, improving your grades, jobs, marriage, health, friendships, and so on.
Step 4. Imagine your ideal "me" or ideal situation
Your statement should give a detailed picture of who you want to become or the change you want to make in your life.
Step 5. For example, imagine yourself being promoted, shaking hands with the executive of the company you'd like to work for, or receiving an award for your artwork
- Pick up a pencil or something else to write. Consider the particular goal you have chosen to reflect on and write it on top of a notepad or sheet of paper.
- In the part below your goal you can start writing your statement. Choose an option from the chart below to create your own statement.
- "I am …"
Step 6. "Mine
.."
Step 7. "(Name)
.."
Step 8. Complete the outline by choosing the verb to make your statement in the present tense
Step 9. "I (verb in the present tense)
.."
Step 10. To give your affirmation emotion, complete one of the diagrams below:
Step 11. "I am (use an adjective to describe emotion) about / about
.."
Step 12. "I feel (use an adjective, noun, adverb to describe the emotion)
.."
Fill in the blanks and add the milestones you want to accomplish at the end of the outline to complete the statement:
Step 13. "(Personal pronoun) (verb in the present tense) (adjective, adverb, noun to describe the emotion) and (your ideal goals)"
- Read your statement aloud, at least twice a day. Get in the habit of saying it once in the morning, when you wake up, and once in the evening, before going to bed. In this way you will start the day with a clear vision of your goals, while at night your mind will be able to meditate unconsciously on the same goals.
- Correct your statement if necessary. As you continue to grow, your goals and perspectives will change. Here are some examples of full statements:
- "I (personal pronoun) feel (verb in the present) good (adverb describing emotion). I see that I am improving (positive feeling) every day and in every way!".
- "I (personal pronoun) am benefiting (verb in the present that describes the emotion) from my light and agile (positive sense adjectives) weight of 80 kilos!".
Step 14. "I (personal pronoun) demonstrate (verb in the present tense) that I am 100% alive (expression that reveals a positive attitude) by thinking, speaking and acting with great enthusiasm (expression that reveals an emotion)"
Step 15. "It is extremely satisfying (expression that reveals an emotion) that I (personal pronoun) respond (present tense) with wisdom, love, steadfastness and self-control (nouns that reveal a positive attitude), when children misbehave"
Step 16. "I (personal pronoun) have (verb in the present tense) an infinite supply of creativity (expression that reveals an emotion), energy and tolerance (expression that reveals a positive attitude) for the project for which I have taken responsibility"
I (personal pronoun) set (verb in the present) goals and carry them forward. I establish my perspectives and take the necessary steps to achieve (expression that reveals a positive attitude) my goals
Step 17. "I am all that I am, my thoughts, my life, my dreams, I am all that I have chosen to be, I am as infinite as the universe."
Advice
-
Write it positively. Affirmations must be positive and encouraging. Focus only on the goals you want to achieve.
- Use proactive phrases like: I am, I want, I can and I choose.
- Don't use reactive phrases as I hope, I will try and should have.
- Your statement must be short and pleasant!
- Use the verb in the present. At the beginning of the statement, follow the pronoun by verbs that characterize the sentence in the present tense. When using the pronoun "I", have it followed by verbs, adverbs and conjunctions such as: feel, look, move, speak, see, speak, be, have, do, now, how and so on.
-
To render an emotion, use phrases such as:
- AND satisfying, delicious.
- I am excited, happy, relaxed, intrigued, ecstatic.
- I feel in a wonderful way, lucky and so on.
- To make the statement personal, use the personal pronoun "I" and the possessive adjective "my" or "your name". This way, you will increase commitment and conviction.
- Make the affirmation easier to remember by making it more enjoyable! (Form a rap or a rhyme).
-
Set a deadline or deadline when you want to reach your goal.
Example: "I will be happy to earn an annual income of € 50,000 by the morning of March 23, 2015".
- Imagine success - when you repeat your affirmation out loud, imagine achieving your goals. Close your eyes and focus on how you would feel if you actually made them. Vividly imagine losing the extra pounds, expressing yourself freely, unleashing your creativity, improving your relationships, increasing your income or making the most of your potential! By imagining success, you will be able to improve and make it become a reality.
Warnings
- Affirmations are powerful tools for programming the mind. Use them to do good things and not something bad.
- Avoid words that suggest perfectionism, such as "never and" always. "Nothing in the world is perfect, because perfection exists only in finished projects, while imperfections are often the result of chance." I'm usually a cheerful person "is a preferable statement. compared to "I'm always happy", because it means that you won't have to beat yourself up for being sad the day your dog dies or that you won't have to deny that you are a happy person, just because you have cried over a romantic breakup.
- "" I manage stress well "is a more productive statement than" I can handle anything. "Compared to a statement that allows you to recover from a difficulty, the second sentence will give you nothing but problems and you will. a fault if you have some bad days in life.
