Sleep. You feel that you are relaxing and your eyes are closing. You don't think about anything else and then you fall asleep. However, if you are reading this article, it means that you are having trouble falling asleep.
Steps
Step 1. When you go to bed, wear loose clothing to allow your body to breathe
If you wear tight-fitting pajamas you will feel constricted and stressed.
Step 2. Sit in a comfortable position
Step 3. Don't sit on the bare floor, but sit on the bed or a soft carpet
Step 4. Make sure you have a dim light in the room you are in
Step 5. Close your eyes and breathe normally
Step 6. Remember not to breathe with "intention", otherwise your brain will remain focused and active
Step 7. At first you will not be able to do it, because your mind will make you think about the day that has just passed and what awaits you tomorrow
Step 8. But once you get used to it, it will be easy to reach this state of meditation
Step 9. When you are able to breathe without thinking about anything, you will experience a sensation you have never experienced before
Step 10. Try to go to bed slowly and maintain this state of mind to start falling asleep
Step 11. If you want to have a good night's rest, try to tire your legs a little (but not too much) during the day
Then, when it's time to go to sleep, stretch them.
Advice
- Don't worry about tomorrow and don't regret yesterday, free your mind.
- Breathe deeply and relax.
- Be very active during the day (for example: go for a run, work out, meet up with friends etc …), this way you will be more tired in the evening.
- Don't drink caffeine just before bed.
- Try to get up early in the morning (and don't take naps during the day), the more tired you are in the evening, the more likely you are to fall asleep quickly.
- Stay silent and bored if possible.
- If you are an insecure person, repeat in your head: "I'm safe" and keep breathing.
- Hold an electronic monitor in front of you, such as a phone or laptop. Your eyes will get tired and it will be easier to sleep.
- Mentally sing a lullaby or think / listen to a relaxing song before bed.
Warnings
- If you try to breathe with some effort, the exercise will have the opposite effect and will wake you up even more.
- Furthermore, forced breathing generates pain.
- If you really can't fall asleep, see a doctor, you may have some pathology.
