Do you like fried eggs? Then you can try cooking them by sprinkling them with butter or steam. The procedure is similar to that required for the preparation of fried eggs. The most common ways to implement it are two: with butter or with steam. Eggs drizzled with butter are rich and flavorful, while the steam makes them lighter. Mastering the basics, you can experiment with other ingredients, such as sauces or herb flavored butter.
Ingrediants
Butter Eggs
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) of butter
- 1 egg
- Salt and Pepper To Taste.
Doses for 1 serving
Steamed Eggs
- 1-2 teaspoons of butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of water
- Salt and Pepper To Taste.
Doses for 1 serving
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Make an Egg Drizzled with Butter
Step 1. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan
Pour 2 tablespoons (30 g) of butter into a non-stick pan. Put it on the stove and set it to a medium-high temperature. Wait for the butter to melt and get hot.
Step 2. Break an egg and put it to cook
To make the process easier, break it into a cup or bowl before cooking.
Step 3. Lower the heat and cook the egg for 1 minute
Lower the heat to low as soon as you cook the egg. Let it cook until the edges begin to turn white. It will take about 1 minute.
Step 4. Sprinkle the egg with butter
Tilt the pan to the side to allow the butter to collect in one corner. Pick up some with a spoon. Straighten the pan and pour the butter over the egg.
Step 5. Cover the pan and cook the egg before sprinkling it again
After about 1 minute, remove the lid and pour more butter over the egg using the same method as before. Repeat this process until the egg white and yolk have thickened. It will take about 4-5 minutes in total.
Try using a glass lid, this way you will be able to see the egg as it cooks
Step 6. Serve the egg
As soon as it finishes cooking, remove the egg from the pan and place it on the plate. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve it alone or on a slice of toast. If there is any butter left in the pan, you can pour it over the egg (or toast) to flavor it even more.
Method 2 of 3: Prepare a Steamed Egg
Step 1. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan
Put a non-stick pan on the stove, then pour 1-2 teaspoons of butter into it. Set the heat to medium-low and let the butter melt.
The pan can also be greased with cooking oil, but be sure to spread it out with a paper towel
Step 2. Break an egg and put it to cook
To make the process easier, break the egg into a cup or small bowl before cooking.
Step 3. Cook the egg for 30 seconds, then add the water
Cook the egg until the edges begin to turn white. It will take about 30 seconds. Now, add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of water.
Use only 1 teaspoon of water if you prefer the egg to be less watery
Step 4. Cover the pan and continue to cook the egg
Put the lid on the pan immediately after adding the water. Steam the egg for 1 ½ or 2 minutes.
The glass lids allow you to see if the egg is ready or not
Step 5. Serve the egg
Remove the pan from the heat as soon as the egg white thickens and the yolk starts to turn pink. Plate the egg and serve it immediately after seasoning it with salt and pepper.
Serve it with a slice of toast for a more substantial meal
Method 3 of 3: Variants to Try
Step 1. Add an avocado to the toast
The fried eggs and toast go together perfectly and are very tasty on their own. If you want, however, you can garnish the bread with 1 or 2 slices of avocado before adding the egg. In this way the dish will be more substantial. Bread prepared with mother yeast is particularly suitable for this recipe.
Step 2. Serve the eggs with oatmeal
Toast is great to accompany eggs, but there are other more original options as well. Make oatmeal to make a meal that has a higher protein intake. Cook the egg and place it on the soup.
Step 3. Use corn tortillas and Mexican salsa to make an exotic dish
Toast a tortilla (preferably corn) in an ungreased skillet. Set it aside, then grease the pan. Put the tortilla back inside and break an egg on top of it. Add 1-2 tablespoons (10-30 g) of sauce, then put a lid on the pan. Cook the egg until the yolk turns pink. Plate the tortilla and egg with a sprinkle of grated cheese.
Step 4. Try drizzling the eggs with flavored butter
Put 2 sticks of butter in a bowl along with 2 cloves of grated garlic, the zest of 1 lemon and 1 finely chopped shallot. Add a handful of chopped fresh parsley leaves and 6 g of chopped fresh basil. Mix everything with a rubber spatula. Use 2 tablespoons (30 g) of butter for the recipe, while keeping the rest in the fridge.
Step 5. Sprinkle a boiled egg with butter to try a different method
Boil an egg for 7 minutes, then put it in ice water and remove the shell. Melt 4 tablespoons (55 g) of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the peeled egg until golden. Pour the melted butter over the egg using a spoon. Season with salt and pepper, then serve it with toast.
Advice
- For these methods, the yolk of the eggs should remain slightly liquid, but you can cook them longer if you prefer.
- If you have to cook various foods for breakfast, try cooking the eggs at a lower temperature. This will lengthen the cooking times.
- Better to use a glass lid, so that you can see the egg as it cooks.
- Place a tomato wedge and onion ring in the pan before adding the egg to make it even tastier.
- Eggs can also be seasoned or garnished with other ingredients.
- These recipes are great for breakfast, but also for lunch or dinner!
- You can cook more eggs in the same pan, but you will need to use more butter.
