Some think it's fun to ruin someone else's property that was bought by working 55 hours a week for 8 years. Of course you are not among them and you just want to get rid of egg stains from your car. Here are some suggestions.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Sand the Stain
Step 1. Assess the damage
The first thing you need to do is check exactly how much surface the eggs have stained. When they hit the car, they can also chip the paint. If the damage is very severe, you need to go straight to Method 2.
Step 2. Use sandpaper
Find or purchase a sheet of very fine-grained emery paper. Leave it to soak for a while, even overnight.
Step 3. Start sanding
Sand the area affected by the eggs. Always keep the paper wet.
Step 4. Polish the scratches
Use a high-speed rotary polisher to remove all traces of sanding. In practice, the polisher melts the protective clear coat into a smooth surface.
Step 5. Finish the job with polish
Use it only on areas where unsightly marks are left. At this point, if the damage has not been resolved, you will need to repaint the area to mask it.
Method 2 of 3: Use a Brake Cleaner
Step 1. Get some very sturdy paper napkins and fold them into small squares
Step 2. Spray some brake cleaner on the napkin and rub it on the egg stain
Step 3. Some paint will probably come off as well, but it shouldn't be noticeable
Step 4. If the paint is very chipped, you need to sand it down
Step 5. Go to your dealer and buy paint that is exactly the same as that of the car
Step 6. Touch up the bodywork where the paint has come off
Method 3 of 3: Use a Car Cleaner
Step 1. Spray car cleaner on the egg stain
Wait for it to work for 5 minutes.
Step 2. Try to remove the stain with a nylon scraper
In this way you detach the dried egg.
Step 3. With a microfibre cloth, remove the residues
Step 4. Apply the shampoo a second time if needed
Step 5. Use the microfiber cloth to clean the area if there is any residue left
Step 6. Polish the body with a clean microfiber cloth
In all, it won't take more than 20 minutes with minimal effort.
Advice
- Park your car in the garage overnight.
- A petroleum jelly-based cream smeared on egg stains and left to rest for five minutes can remove them. Follow the same procedures as in the last method using the cream.
Warnings
- When you spray brake cleaner, be careful not to dirty the body. It is an aggressive product capable of removing paint.
- Use paper towels to scrub only the stained areas.
- Sanding and repainting the bodywork requires skill and technique. If you are not sure what you are doing, just use the cleaning method.
