As they dry, the cake pops need to stand upright. Surely on the market you can find ready-made products, but building your cake pops holder is not only very simple, it also allows you to reuse those materials that you would otherwise be forced to throw away.
Steps
Method 1 of 6: Carton for 12 eggs
Step 1. Empty the 12-egg carton
Close it with its lid.
Step 2. Turn it upside down
Step 3. Drill a hole in the center of each egg holder with a metal skewer
Check that the wooden stick of your cake pops can pass through the hole.
Step 4. Prepare the cake pops and insert them into the newly created cake pop holder
Method 2 of 6: Egg carton without a lid
Step 1. If your egg carton does not have a lid, place it in front of you
Step 2. Drill a hole with the metal skewer in the center of each holder, see the picture
Step 3. Check that the wooden stick of your cake pops can fit through the hole
Step 4. Prepare the cake pops and insert them into the newly created cake pop holder
Method 3 of 6: Polystyrene or cut flower sponge
Step 1. Get an unused piece of Styrofoam
Alternatively, a sponge for cut flowers can also be used. Remember that in both cases the material must be able to support the weight of your cake pops. So choose a shape that is large enough and with a flat base.
Step 2. Drill holes with the metal skewer at regular intervals
Step 3. Prepare the cake pops and place them in the newly created cake pop holder
Method 4 of 6: Cribbage game board
Step 1. If you have a wooden cribbage board, check that the wooden sticks of your cake pops are the same size as the holes
If so, all you have to do is prepare and insert them.
Method 5 of 6: Colander
Step 1. Choose a colander with holes of the appropriate size, the sticks of your cake pops must be able to pass through
Step 2. Place it on a flat surface and turn it over
Step 3. Prepare the cake pops and insert them into the holes in the colander
Method 6 of 6: Decorate your cake pops holder
In addition to allowing your cake pops to dry perfectly, your cake pops holder can become an original and creative idea to present on the table during a party. Here are some ideas to take inspiration from:
Step 1. Line the egg carton
Use some wrapping paper and wrap the box. Drill the holes with the metal skewer through the paper, follow the method described in the first steps. Insert the cake pops and put it on display after decorating it with a colorful bow.
Step 2. Create a container using a decorated basket, box or vase
In this case, you will need the flower sponge. Cut out a piece of the right size and insert it into the container. Wrap the sponge in colored paper, crepe paper, fabric, or cellophane. Also add a bow or ribbon and then place the cake pops to create a garden in bloom.
Step 3. Fill a glass jar with colorful candies and treats
Make sure each of them is well packed and then pop in your cake pops. Decorate the jar with a nice bow.
Step 4. Fill a nice glass with white sugar
Put the cake pops in the sugar.
Step 5. Any object with a hole or that can be pierced with a drill can turn into a fabulous cake pop holder
For example, an unused base for electrical connections or old wooden toys.
Step 6. Make a cake and stick it with cake pops
If you are good you can even cut a slice of cake for each diner and serve it with the cake pop still inserted as decoration.
