Steps
Method 1 of 2: Use a small saucepan
Step 1. Measure the water
To do this, use the cup you will use for drinking.
Step 2. Put the water in a saucepan
Boil it.
Step 3. Add a full spoonful of coffee per cup to hot water
Step 4. Stir with a fork
Remove the pot from the heat and wait a few minutes for the beans to sink.
Step 5. Serve the coffee
Be careful not to drop the beans into the cups.
Method 2 of 2: Using a Campfire
Step 1. Prepare the coffee can
Using an empty coffee can, add a handle using the following technique:
- Drill two opposite holes in the top of the can.
- Thread a metal cord through the holes to make the handle.
- Using pliers, bend the cable over itself to secure it.
Step 2. Put the ground coffee in the container you made (1 full spoon per cup)
Fill the can with water to about 7.5 cm from the rim.
Step 3. Stir the campfire
Make sure to place the can in a suitable spot: on a platform above the fire or on flat coals in one part of the fire
Step 4. Put the coffee can on the fire, using the handle
Boil the water.
Step 5. Break the surface tension
When the water boils, you will have to break the surface tension to prevent the coffee beans from burning. You can do this with a small, clean sprig, with a pinch of salt, or with a cracked eggshell. Use the items at your disposal.
Step 6. Boil the coffee for several minutes
Remove the can from the heat and let it cool.
Step 7. Holding the can by the handle, rock it slightly to allow the beans to settle to the bottom
Step 8. Serve the coffee
Pour the coffee into a suitable cup.
