Steps
Step 1. Pay attention to your credit report
When you apply for the American Express Platinum Card, you will be given a summary judgment or score based on your degree of reliability and creditworthiness, which is influenced by several factors, such as the characteristics of your credit reports, performance and the payment history of existing or terminated relationships and so on. Your request will be accepted or rejected based on this score.
Step 2. You must have all current accounts in good standing
- Pay a deposit of the outstanding amounts, less than 30% of the available credit.
- Always pay bills on time to increase your credit report score and the chances of your application being approved.
- Correct any mistakes in your credit report that could lower your score.
Step 3. Go to the American Express website to fill out the form
Choose the Platinum Card option and click "Apply Now".
- If you already have an American Express account, sign in with that. If you are a new customer, choose the option to create a new account.
- Write your name as you want it to appear on the payment card.
- Write your name, e-mail address, residential address, identity document number and date of birth in the appropriate fields. Provide any additional information requested on the Platinum Card form.
- Fill in the field dedicated to your job with your company name, city, state and telephone number.
- Proceed with entering financial information. Enter the annual income and choose the source of income from the drop-down menu. Indicate in the relevant spaces if you have a bank account and a money market or savings account.
- Indicate if you would like to have an extra Platinum Card in your current account and fill in the form reserved for the card holder.
Step 4. Verify the information and submit the form
American Express may notify you of the decision in 60 seconds. You should receive a notification email within 10 days.
