PayPal is an online merchant account company that allows account holders to accept, revoke and make payments through a secure website. It is widely used by eBay buyers and sellers as well as those of countless other e-commerce sites. It is the most widely used online account company among users around the world.
Steps
Step 1. Go to www.paypal.com
Step 2. Log into your PayPal account by entering your PayPal email address and password in the appropriate fields in the login box on the right of the PayPal homepage
Make sure that the "Login" option is selected in the drop-down menu under the PayPal password field.
Step 3. Click the yellow “Login” button at the bottom of the login box
Step 4. Select the “profile” label under the “My Account” section of your PayPal account page
Step 5. Scroll down and select the “Add or Remove Bank Account” option
It will direct you to the "Bank Account" page.
Step 6. Click the button to add the bank account
It will take you to the “Link your bank account” page.
Step 7. Select the passbook option
Step 8. Enter your bank account information
This information will include your bank details and account number. These can be found on one of the checks linked to your specific bank account.
- Bank details: the number on the lower left side of the check are the bank details; locate this number and enter it in the "Bank details" field in the middle of the "Link your bank account" page.
- Bank Account Number: The number on the lower right side of the check is your bank account; locate this number and enter it under "Account Number" on the "Link your bank account" page. At the end of the account number, there is a "7" on the check in the account number area. Without using dashes or spaces, add this "7" in the "Account number" field just after the general account number. This "7" designates the savings account portion of the bank account.
Step 9. Enter your bank name in the “Bank Name” field
Step 10. Press the yellow “Continue” button at the bottom of the screen
It will take you to the 'Confirm your bank account' page. On this page, you can choose “Confirm Instantly” by entering your account number and access codes. You can also choose the “Confirm in 2-3 days” option, which pays 2 separate and small deposits into the account created and asks you to verify them by transferring the exact same amount back to PayPal. These deposits will be less than 1 euro and will merely serve to confirm your bank account on your PayPal account.
Advice
- When you enter your bank details in the relevant field, Paypal may already recognize the bank's bank details and automatically enter the name of the bank for you.
- When you type the bank account number in the "Bank account" field on the "Link your bank account" page of the PayPal account, ending the account number with a "6" (without using spaces or dashes) means that it is your current account.
- You can choose to use both your current account and your savings book as your primary PayPal account by going to the "Profile" label in the "My Account" section of PayPal, selecting "Add or change bank account" and clicking the "Make primary" link”On the right side of the account you want it to be the primary one. You can only do this when PayPal has confirmed the bank account.
