Ask the viewer to choose a number from 0 to 9 and keep that in mind. After a few steps he will choose another number from 0 to 9. After a further step they will give you an answer and you can amaze them by telling them which are the two numbers in the same order in which they were chosen!
Steps
Step 1. Ask them to mentally choose a number from 0 to 9 (say 2, for example)
Step 2. Ask to double it (2 + 2 = 4)
Step 3. Now add 5 to the result (4 + 5 = 9)
Step 4. Now ask to multiply the result by 5 (9 * 5 = 45)
Step 5. At this point, invite your viewer to keep this latter result in mind (45)
Step 6. Then ask them to mentally choose another number from 0 to 9 (say 4)
Step 7. Have it add to the last result (45 + 4 = 49)
Step 8. Have this result announced aloud (49)
Step 9. Listen carefully and then mentally subtract 25 from the result (49-25 = 24)
Step 10. The first digit of the result YOU will get after mentally subtracting 25 (24) is the first number they chose, while the last digit corresponds to the second number (4)
Advice
- Here is the math trick behind this game: the person chooses a number X, then multiplies it by two and adds 5. So, you get 2X + 5. Multiplying the result by 5, we get: 10X + 25. The person then chooses another Y number which is added to the result: 10X + Y + 25. When you mentally subtract 25, you are left with 10X + Y, in other words a number whose ten corresponds to X and whose unit corresponds to Y.
- It is important that ONLY numbers between 0 and 9 are chosen.
- If the result you get by subtracting 25 is 1, it means that the first number chosen is 0 and the second is 1.
- If that doesn't work, you may have overlooked one of the steps or done it in a different order. Try to read them all again and memorize them in the right sequence to play the game perfectly every time.
