If you haven't played Minecraft in a long time, you are probably looking for a way to keep those damn monsters out of your house. For this purpose, there are doors! Wooden doors can be opened and closed by characters, but not by monsters. Keep annoying monsters out of your house once and for all.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Method One: Building a Wooden Door
Step 1. Build a door using 6 wooden planks
You can make planks by placing a block of wood in the crafting area.
If you don't have a crafting table, create one by placing 4 wooden planks in the inventory crafting area
Step 2. Place 6 wooden planks in a rectangle of height 3 and base 2 on the crafting table
This way you will create a wooden door. Note that you can change the look of the door by using different types of wood. You can therefore build a door out of oak, jungle wood, fir or birch.
Method 2 of 3: Method Two: Construct an Iron Door
Step 1. Make an iron door using 6 iron ingots
To get the bars, you have two options:
- Crafting: Obtain iron ingots from a single block of iron.
- Smelting: Cast the ingots using a block of iron ore.
Step 2. Arrange the ingots in the same way as the wooden planks, filling two vertical columns
You now have an iron door.
Method 3 of 3: Place the Door
Step 1. Place the door on the side of the block you want to place it on
If you are standing on the outside of a block, you will place the door on the outside of the wall. Likewise, you will place it inside if you are inside your home.
Step 2. Place two doors side by side to create a double door
Two adjacent doors will automatically orient themselves to become a double door.
Step 3. Use pressure plates to automatically open the wooden doors
A plate on one side of the door will automatically open it when you walk on it. If you are worried that monsters will enter, however, only place the plate on the inside of the door.
You can also easily open and close wooden doors by right clicking on the door
Step 4. Note that the iron doors will not open with a right click
It is impossible to open an iron door without the use of a mechanism. Use this notion to keep monsters and other unwanted players out of your private space.
- Create a redstone loop connected to the door and use a lever to open it.
- Put a pressure plate on the inside hinge of your iron door to open it.
Advice
- You can open the wooden doors with a redstone signal. This means you can use buttons, levers or pressure plates to open them.
- Iron doors can be created with iron ingots. Although zombies cannot break an iron door, regardless of the mode, you will not be able to open it with your hands but only with a redstone.
- You can apply a pressure plate and buttons near the wooden doors. The functioning of the door will not change much, but it will become similar to an iron door.
Warnings
- Zombies can break through wooden doors in Hard mode. If you hear the sound of someone knocking, be sure to take out the zombie trying to enter.
- If you are going to use a plate to open the door, make sure you only place it inside the house, otherwise the monsters will also be able to open it by walking on the plate.
