A red stone lamp is used to give better lighting to the structures; this lamp has a more modern look than the primitive torches. However, to light it up after you build it, you will need to use a redstone current, because it won't glow by itself.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Find the Materials
Step 1. Dig underground to find the red stone
You will need it to create the redstone powder for the lamp.
Step 2. Find some glowstone in the Nether
Step 3. Create a glowstone block using glowstone dust
(Place it on the crafting table forming a 2x2 square).
Method 2 of 4: Construct the Red Stone Lamp
Step 1. Place the glowstone block and 4 redstone powders on the crafting table
Arrange them as follows:
- Place the glowstone block in the center of the crafting table.
-
Place the four redstone powders in the squares above, below and to the side of the glowstone. (Leaving the four corners of the crafting table blank).
Step 2. Shift-click or drag the redstone lamp into your inventory
Method 3 of 4: Place the Red Stone Lamp
Step 1. With the lamp in hand, right click where you want to place it
The lamp will be placed in that spot.
You can create many spectacular arrangements with red stone lamps, such as glowing ceilings, rows of lamps in the walls, and floors that emit light
Method 4 of 4: Turn on the Lamps
As soon as the lamp is powered, it will produce light.
Step 1. Send a red stone pulse to the lamp
To do this, you have several choices, for example:
- A lever (continuous) - you can put it on top of the lamp
- A redstone torch (continuous) - place it in any square adjacent to the lamp to activate it (do not put it directly on it)
- One button (short duration) - you can put it on top of the lamp
- Tripwire (short duration - as soon as you walk away it will turn off)
- Pressure plate (short duration, as soon as you step off the plate it will go out) - you can put it on top of the lamp
- Indicator tracks (useful for headlights and roller coasters)
Advice
- Red stone lamps are very nice to light up the house
- The red stone lamps will melt the snow and ice.
- If you break a redstone lamp you will receive a lamp and not the pieces you used to build it.
- Redstone circuits take up a lot of space. If you attach a lamp to a lever or a redstone torch, you will be able to hide the switches and still enjoy good lighting (you can place them behind a wall, above the ceiling, under the floor, etc.). However, some people prefer to leave the lever visible, so they can turn off the lamps at will.
