This article explains how to send a message to a friend on TikTok and check the inbox using an Android device.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Send a Message
Step 1. Open TikTok on your device
The icon looks like a white musical note in a black box. You can find it in the application menu.
Step 2. Tap the icon
bottom right.
This will open your profile page.
Step 3. Tap Followed under your profile photo
This button shows the total number of people you follow and is at the top of the profile. Tapping it will open the list of all the users you follow.
Alternatively, you can tap "Followers" next to the "Followed" button to see the list of users who follow you instead
Step 4. Tap the name of the user you want to send a message to
Find the person you want to chat with and tap their name on the list to open their profile.
Step 5. Tap the Message button on their profile
You can find this button at the top of the profile page, under the image of the user in question. The chat screen will open.
Step 6. Enter your message in the text box
Tap the text field at the bottom of the chat screen and write a message in it.
Step 7. Tap the red paper airplane icon
This button is located next to the text box on the right side. The message will be sent.
Part 2 of 2: Check the Inbox
Step 1. Tap the square speech bubble icon at the bottom of the screen
A new page will open with the list of all the notifications you have received.
Step 2. Tap the inbox icon at the top right
This button is located in the upper right corner of the notification list. In the section that opens you will see all the private messages received from your friends.
Step 3. Tap a message in the box
The conversation will open in full screen. You will be able to read all the messages exchanged in the chat and reply to your friend.
