Do you want to create a quality animated film? Though it may sound complicated, the animation industry is constantly evolving and giving rise to ever easier and better ways to animate.
Steps
Step 1. Determine what kind of movie it will be
Will it be infused with cartoonish action and violence or full of comedy? Collect ideas about your characters and create a plot for the story.
Step 2. You may want to create a storyboard, but if your film is short, this may not be necessary
Storyboard designs don't have to be of great quality.
Step 3. Write a script
Make sure you include yourself everything, especially the dialogues. Every detail counts.
Step 4. Write out the profiles for the characters so that the stars of your animated film can develop further later
Include tons of details. You can even enter your character's character traits. Is he simply the actor in a movie or is he something more?
Step 5. Animate your movie
By now you should have already decided which animation technique you will use. Flip books are cheap and fun, but they have several downsides (no sound, limited film length). Traditional animation has a remarkable quality, but takes longer, is not very efficient and is quite expensive. However, you could always use animation software. It's all in your hands, the creator!
Step 6. Touch up your film
Decide if there's something you'd like to change or don't like. If so, then cut it out.
Step 7. Show your movie
Advice
- Show off your finished product to your family, teachers, friends or mentors. Ask for constructive criticism. It shouldn't be enough for them to tell you if they liked the movie or not. Get them to tell you why. If they have any suggestions you can use to improve your film, welcome their ideas and seriously consider making changes. Make any changes that seem appropriate to you.
- Make sure you create the shadows correctly, be sure you know where the light source is.
- The images of the storyboard they help give you an in-depth insight into what you want to include in each scene, from which angle you want to film your animated characters.
Warnings
- Making a movie can be stressful and time-consuming, regardless of which technique you use.
- Traditional animation is expensive.
- Flip books are lacking in sound and length.
